Starbucks robs us. It’s kinds like robbing a bank, Mark zuckerberg, or the Democratic headquarters. All fair game in my books.

Nobody gets “robbed” by choosing to buy something from a store. If a person is so hooked on the need to buy something against their will, it’s not the seller who has the problem.

That shopping center could use a security guard.

Strange he’d pick that Starbucks, many police get coffee there.

No such thing. Cali cops earn six figure salaries on average. Some make much more ( yes, they are certainly hiring).

Not saying it’s right, but, better the mega Starbucks than a small local mom&pop coffee shop still recovering from power outage lost income.

By the way… if anyone wants Organic at a Starbucks, request a Yukon pour-over. On our travels, we’ve found that they often have to open a fresh bag. They will, or should, warn you that it’s not completely Organic since the grinder was used for non-Org beans, but, hey, better than nothing. The unused portion then gets brewed or sent home with an employee. Corporate only sees a bag missing from the shelf and reorders. If more people ask for it, maybe they’ll get the hint and brew it regularly. Thank you to the unnamed, unsung employee that turned us onto that somewhere in Oregon. It’s makes travel coffee so much better.

But that is why Starbucks exists. It provides a consistent product. There are plenty of local businesses to offer different choices. Not a few of them mixing commerce with principle. The problem is that sometimes they might disappoint. Sometimes they might exceed all expectations. People generally prefer the modest but sure result of a standardised brand over the crap shoot of an individual effort.

Kinda my point about being on the road: small local crap shoot vs large corporate regularity. Just sayin’, one can get Organic from them. At home, we usually brew our own, but we have a couple locals we go to occasionally, like when we forget to grind the night before a power outage.
