20/20 Vision: Fine Art Photography Competition & Exhibition

The Humboldt Arts Council is pleased to announce a new juried photography competition and exhibition that celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the Morris Graves Museum of Art—20/20 Vision! 20/20 Vision: 20th Anniversary Fine Art Photography Competition & Exhibition is open to all photographers. Submissions will be accepted in person on Wednesday, January 15th, Noon-5p.m. at the Morris Graves Museum of Art. The exhibition is sponsored by the Faben Artist Fund. The juror for 20/20 Vision is Douglas Dertinger.

Doug Dertinger was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. A landscapist, his work focuses on the intimate encounter of the unattended. Doug has shown nationally and internationally, and is in the permanent collections of the Princeton University Art Museum and St. Mary’s University Art Gallery, Nova Scotia. He holds a BFA in Fine Arts from Colorado State University and an MFA in Fine and Media Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and has taught at a variety of institutions across the U.S., joining the faculty of Photography at Sacramento State University in 2008.

The Morris Graves Museum of Art, located at 636 F Street, Eureka is open to the public noon-5p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults; $2 for seniors (age 65 and over) and students with ID; children 17 and under free; Museum members are free. Admission is always free for everyone on the first Saturday of every month, including First Saturday Night Arts Alive!, 6-9 p.m. and Mini Masters at the MGMA.
