Love Humboldt!
We all experienced last month’s debacle by PG&E with the PSPS power outages in Humboldt County. I couldn’t even imagine that PG&E would need to turn the power off in Humboldt County but they did. The weather was neither warm nor windy here but since our grid is connected to areas were supposed to experience such a weather event we were blacked out along with those areas.
I found myself caught a little off guard and concerned as my wife was flying back home to Arcata from LA the next day. I started to worry about how she was going to get home as neither of us had experienced flying during a blackout. Will the airport be operational? Should I try to get a flight before the blackout and meet her so we could drive home together over 650 miles? That would have been fun driving without working stop lights for a good part of the drive!
I reached out to Supervisor Rex Bohn with my concerns. I’ve known Rex for a long time and knew he would be able to help me quickly. I received a prompt response from him assuring me that the generators were checked and were all good to run the airport and not to worry. That brought a new found calm in my world as I was able to call my wife with the news everything is going to be fine as planned with her travel.
I appreciate the knowledge and the high standards of community service of Rex Bohn. I don’t live in his district so I can’t vote for Rex. But he is a wonderful asset to our community and I encourage those that do to vote for him. Love Humboldt!

Wow what a reassurance! The real question should have been…..How did his son escape all those criminal charges he had stacked against him ? https://lostcoastoutpost.com/2012/sep/19/four-men-allegedly-try-kidnap-and-pepper-spray-chi/
Or, one might ask, when you will get over something his son did over 7 years ago?
Rex is a buffoon that is glad to help those that have “known Rex for a long time”
My attempted calls however, have suspiciously gone unanswered.
Exactly
The old it’s not what ya know but who ya know. Glad your wife made it home but you probably could have called the airport and got the same response. And truthfully if Rex has time to call you back during this crisis of sorts, I’m kinda wondering if maybe Rex wasn’t working on behalf of all his constituents during this unnecessary turn off of power. Say Rex?! How about you care and work for all the people in your district and not just the ones you know and are friends with. Novel idea isn’t it!
Oh wow, so Rex picks up the phone and talks to his friends! What a meaningless dribble of political campaigning for corrupt inept Rex and his criminal organization. Kym should be ashamed.
Down with Rex! No more good ol boys using the system for personal enrichment and family gain! No more of Alex Moore’s lacky while the rest of us watch the county implode! Rex and his son Trevor are criminals should be indicted!
Not ashamed. Proud to offer space for a variety of opinions…including yours that tells me I should be ashamed for providing space for people to speak their beliefs.
And what an odd letter to get so worked up over. You can not think Rex is the best supervisor and still think it is fine to thank him for a kindness. It takes a pretty high level of hostility to be angry that not everyone dislikes the same people you do.
Come drive out to Rex’s district – enjoy the crumbling roads, talk to the locals who have lost their life savings to abatements or unsustainable permits, then check out his son’s “legal” farm, with its 24-hour a day fans and generators, garbage, armed robberies and lots of brand new trucks. So he offered you verbal assurances that everything was “okay” during the blackout – how the hell does that make up for all of the lives he has destroyed? Thank goodness you don’t live in his district – we don’t need you voting for our oppressor!
Hmm..
Sounds like the bigot Jay Pickering from all sides now.
Don’t worry, we know you work for Hillary
Thanks for the censorship Kym. I see you’re in the business of supporting Rex too and a mouthpiece just like LOCO! Shame on you Kym you’ve lost my respect as a journalist. Everything I said was true in that comment. You hide info for criminals running this county.

Hey I don’t live in Rex’s district and our roads are just as bad. you should get a life, away from here if you are so dissatisfied. Good luck, as they say( times are a changing)
Fake news is at an all time hi by our disgusting county government today !!!!! Propaganda special!!!
Rex Love Tacos! Or is that Rex Loves Mexicans! Or Rex Loves hubcaps! Whatever. Unfortunately Rex’s lack of intelligence mimics many of his constituents.
Wow I don’t see any of the hate Rex folks getting off their asses and doing any thing to help out all the fire victims. Rex did, If you cannot be part of the solution STFU. Better yet run for the office and see if you can do better, but I don’t think you will as it takes work not just verbal diarrhea.
