The Mateel Annual Membership is Tuesday

This year’s Mateel Community Center Annual Membership Meeting agenda is expected to include a presentation on the loan application the Board has spent most of 2019 preparing; its 2019 fundraising successes and plans for 2020 Reggae on the River without High Times Productions; and the nominations for the Board.

The expiring board seats belong to Megan Gomes who has been serving as President and will not seek re-election; Eryn Snodgrass who has been serving as Treasurer and who will not seek re-election, and Pleasure Strange who may seek re-election.

The continuing board members are Dusty Hughston, Bruce Champie, Stephen Helliwell, Nate Miller, Babette Bach and Daniel Lawrence

This is a press release from the Mateel Community Center:

On Tuesday, November 19th the membership of the Mateel Community Center and members of the public are invited to the annual Mateel membership meeting.  The event starts at 5:30pm with a potluck dinner and  meeting  to follow at 6:30pm.

The Mateel  annual  membership  meeting  is the time when nominations for candidates to run as new board  members  are submitted for the ballot.   This year nominations will be made for candidates to run for two open positions on the Mateel Board of Directors that will be vacated by current board members. The upcoming election for Mateel Board of Directors’  seats will include three total board member positions, as one of the current board members whose seat is up wil run again. Board members are elected for a three -year term. The election takes place in December by mail-in ballot.   Current  members  receive ballots by mail to vote on three total seats  annually.   Non-members are also encouraged to attend the annual membership meeting that occurs during what is typically the monthly board meeting time slot.  The annual Mateel member meeting offers an opportunity to voice concerns and share ideas about what the Mateel can offer to the local community.

Everybody is talking about the $10k donation by the Bulgarian. Nice to see them becoming part of the community.

How much is the admission, for the meeting?

Support your exclusive club! Don’t give them the loan funds in cash!

Right, RoR was a complete financial disaster these last couple of years. High times backed out because of it… so now the Mateel is going forward again with it?

That’s what we can learn at the membership meeting. And what the board can learn is what its membership feels like supporting.

Howdy internet people it’s Joe again we have reached a point where the governing bodies are no longer looking out for our greater good. The disease has spread from the top down all the way into the community center I have been knocking on the doors of their hearts and no one is answering soon I will be creating a broom to clean the halls of Justice.

Being in debt when Fiat currencies are doomed to collapse. According to some statistics one in five people are in debt beyond their assets. With tighter regulations in the marijuana growing community and higher prices for gasoline and staple foods. Can make it very hard on people that want to be charitable and can make it almost impossible to bail out a community center if they find that they have to default on the loan
