Work Day to Decorate Rio Dell November 30th, Rio Dell Tree Lighting December 7th

Work day set to decorate Rio Dell

Each year Rio Dell’s collection of holiday-themed decorations grows, and it takes more people to put them up.  Volunteer to be part of the work crew this year – show up at the Rio Dell-Scotia Chamber of Commerce office, 406 Wildwood Ave., Rio Dell on Sat., Nov. 30 at 9 a.m. and bring your friends, family and neighbors.  Jobs include wrapping trees in Memorial Park with lights; decorating the tree on the median across from the chamber office; hanging star and reindeer lighted decorations from light poles and putting up plywood cutouts on the median with themes of candy canes, elves and more.

Celebrate the season at Rio Dell tree lighting

The annual Dennis Wendt Tree Lighting ceremony will be Sat., Dec. 7 in Rio Dell, starting at 5 p.m.  Come to the Chamber of Commerce office at 406 Wildwood Ave. for a free, family-friendly event that is open to all.  Meet Santa, enjoy refreshments and children’s activities courtesy of the Community Resource Center, hear holiday music by Scotia Saxes, a unit of Scotia Band, and join in caroling with the Baptist Church singers.  The event is sponsored by the Rio Dell-Scotia Chamber of Commerce.
