Mateel Community Center Annual Membership Meeting November 19th

This is a press release from the Mateel Community Center:

On Tuesday, November 19th the membership of the Mateel Community Center and members of the public are invited to the annual Mateel membership meeting.  The event starts at 5:30pm with a potluck dinner and  meeting  to follow at 6:30pm.

The Mateel  annual  membership  meeting  is the time when nominations for candidates to run as new board  members  are submitted for the ballot.   This year nominations will be made for candidates to run for two open positions on the Mateel Board of Directors that will be vacated by current board members. The upcoming election for Mateel Board of Directors’  seats will include three total board member positions, as one of the current board members whose seat is up wil run again. Board members are elected for a three -year term. The election takes place in December by mail-in ballot.   Current  members  receive ballots by mail to vote on three total seats  annually.   Non-members are also encouraged to attend the annual membership meeting that occurs during what is typically the monthly board meeting time slot.  The annual Mateel member meeting offers an opportunity to voice concerns and share ideas about what the Mateel can offer to the local community.
