Arcata Police Search for Suspect After Robbery of Credit Union in the Valley West Area

At approximately 2:30 p.m. today, a man robbed the Northern Redwood Federal Credit Union which is located in the Valley West area of Arcata on the 1200 block of Guintoli Lane. According to Arcata Police Chief Brian Ahearn, the suspect walked up to a teller and presented a demand note.

“[He] said he had a gun,” Ahearn said. “[But] no gun seen.” The suspect was provided an unknown amount of cash. The suspect “fled northbound toward Mad River Parkway and was last seen going underneath a bridge,” Ahearn explained. “We searched the area and were unable to locate the suspect.”

No one was injured and investigators are attempting to gather video evidence, the Chief told us.

At this point, the suspect is believed to be a white male in his 40’s wearing all dark clothing and carrying dark backpack.

Hmmm… a little vague on the description. Does this bank, per chance, use video surveillance? I hear it’s pretty popular among financial institutions.

Based on the inequity of this country the haves way outweigh the have nots. When less than 1% own 99% of the country’s wealth a guy’s got to get money wherever he can. And unless that changes making money will most likely get worse. People like us just barely make it with our “good” jobs and the oneus to pay the majority of Gov’t services like 18 billion dollar aircraft carriers and billion dollar F-35’s and Social Security, Medicare and social and educational services while the rich fly around the world in their private jets and live in multi million dollar houses, but yet the rich pay the least amount in taxes. The HAVES have and the HAVE NOTS rob banks and go to prison which is paid for on the backs of the $20 an hour workers. Thirty percent of California’s budget go for police, courts and prisons. Do you see very many rich people with their expensive lawyers going to prison. And our president and his friends use taxpayers money to fly to Scotland to play golf and party in Florida. Something wrong with this picture. [edit]

The top 1% pay OVER 40% of the income taxes. The top 20% pay close to 90% of the income taxes. What’s wrong with this picture is that more and more losers cry about so called inequality and want nothing more than to eat the rich. These same losers never seem to complain about politicians getting rich who have never created a product, service or invention that benefits society. The only thing most of them have ever done is promise to steal from the productive and give to the lazy all the while extorting anyone they can through their political power. Think Joe, Hunter Biden.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/top-20-of-americans-will-pay-87-of-income-tax-1523007001

Of course your only rebuttal will be that WSJ is a right wing organization and therefore those statistics are bunk. The IRS will give you the same statistics. Now where’s your argument?

Is society worse off because Bill Gates is a billionaire? No, we’re all way better off and have collectively benefitted enormously from the products and services he produced. Businesses that provide superior products or services get wealthy because people FREELY choose to give them money. Politicians get rich through extortion by creating rules that benefit their cronies, NOT by doing what benefits the people the most. Therefore, I vilify politicians, i.e. the government.

They once paid all those taxes back in the ‘50s. Since then we have always been able to give tax breaks to the rich, but we can’t afford a federal infrastructure program like the old CCC programs of the ‘30’s.

The answer to your falsehoods is that the recent giant giveaway in tax breaks to the 1% has added about 1.3 trillion to the national deficit. So much for all the taxes the rich pay. See, we can’t afford “entitlements” for the hoi polloi but nothing is more “entitled” than obscene tax breaks for the super-wealthy. To add further insult, the pennies thrown to the teeming masses will sunset automatically in ten years when nobody is looking but the breaks for the wealthy go on in perpetuity unless ended by act of Congress. Another good reason to vote republicans out everywhere every time. BTW, we’ll see how much Trump paid in taxes and we’ll know why he squirms like the trapped rat that he is. Let’s talk then! Promise? Ha, ha like hell you will. I remember when Reagan got bad press for paying almost nothing in taxes. This is an old, old Republican ploy. Vote ‘em out.

Nice job, Republicans, you saved America with our greatest President Abraham Lincoln 150 years ago and now you take America OUT with the worst, hands-down, walk-away Presidential disaster that is Donald John Trump, The best Asset the Russians and every dictator and would-be tyrant has ever had.

Clinton, the GATT and NAFTA championing, welfare reform passing, economy exporting huckster for the Democratic Leadership Council, doubled down on that Reagan BS. Reagan exported all the raw materials for less than they were worth via tax law changes. Clinton exported the means of production for enough money to create a phony prosperity for ten years. The great strategy was to move to the “corporatist center” and produce all sorts of liberal wonderment as a compromise. It didn’t work. There was no national health care or improvement in health insurance of any kind. The insurance companies (regular contributors to Democratic Party) took over medical decisions through HMO’s, with doctors merely serving as advisors and gate keepers. The drug companies (consistent Democratic contributors for decades) knowingly started the opioid epidemic. Prison buildout ramped up. And “welfare reform” was so effective at grinding the poverty while still keeping entire communities dependent that Cheney and Bush didn’t need to add much to it
As Joe Kennedy demonstrated in 1929 it’s not the amount you have, it’s your position in relation to everyone else. He stepped back into the market after the first catastrophic drop along with an Astor, I think, and sent it back up. Over the next few days he quietly sold everything he could, to return to as big a cash position as he could manage. When the market plunged again he didn’t worry because he knew his cash position made him relatively richer than everyone who hadn’t unloaded.
The Koch’s “earned” their money providing “oilfield services” where they gathered oil from Indian Reservations and farmers in Kansas and Oklahoma. Magically the amount of oil that they sold on the market was greater than the amount they paid their service clients. You never know, it could have been a “loaves and fishes” miracle; they were Christians and God is good to Christians.

Here’s the rub, if the rich ramp up subsidies for the rich and write laws that take money and freedom away from everyone else (which they do) then it doesn’t matter how much they pay in taxes. As long as their taxes are less than their subsidies, and your taxes are more than your subsidies, they’ll be happy

This is what the control strategy of divide and conquer looks like in our society. Both of the major parties are corrupt through and through. By believing in one of these parties and burning your personal energy on arguing with other ordinary people you are turning over your soul to the Matrix, and doing your share in making sure that ‘We the People’ will never unite against corruption. –from; 16 Slave Questions

Lost Croat, Here’s an article that you won’t read and don’t care about. It is the nature of liberals to react emotionally and hysterically shout down facts with no actual rebuttal so I get it. Par for the course.

“They once paid all those taxes back in the ‘50s.”

Um, yes they pretty much did. https://taxfoundation.org/taxes-on-the-rich-1950s-not-high/

“The answer to your falsehoods”

name falsehood

“tax breaks to the 1% has added about 1.3 trillion to the national deficit”

The tax breaks went to everyone. Did MSNBC teach you that propaganda or CNN? You are confusing the national debt with the budget deficit. Your statement reveals your ignorance about the matter. And no doubt, in classic liberal fashion, you have no desire to learn. I respond in the hopes that others will recognize your folly and learn from it.

http://metrocosm.com/history-of-us-taxes/

The government is taking in more money than it has in the history of the republic. The problem is that the government is spending more than ever…….on EVEYTHING, with promises of free shit, in order to get elected! I do not advocate tax breaks without spending cuts, and yes Trump is a hypocrite for doing so. Every government program requires taxes to pay for it, not just from the rich, but everybody! You cannot have your cake and eat it too. Vilifying the rich because you are an envious loser won’t solve anything. History is replete with examples of empires crumbling. Invariably it starts with politicians promising the “hoi polloi” free shit at the expense of the rich (coupled with perpetual war). Inevitably the empire goes broke and viola, we have equality because everybody’s equally broke! Except the politicians who then rule with an iron fist. This is our fate if the mob keeps demanding to eat the rich. You fuckers are going to get exactly what you deserve. Unfortunately, so will the rest of us.

You needed to read to the end of the article. ““The best estimates indicate that the tax system is progressive — with the rich paying a higher tax rate than everyone else,” Furman said. … noted that Saez and Zucman did not include refundable tax credits, such as the earned-income tax credit (EITC), in their analysis.”

In other words the tax credits that can actually increase refunds to more than taxes paid where excluded from the analysis cited in the linked article. As Suez and Zucman say when defending their arbitrary definition of tax burden used in their study, ““Do you treat the EITC as a negative tax? veterans’ benefits? medicaid? defense spending? … There’s no clear line and the results become arbitrary.”” And the answer is yes, those extra non taxed items do count because they are actual money spent by actual people. Unless the agenda is to make the users of this study feel like they are getting the raw end of the deal.

The more government makes rules, the more complicated it gets. Grants? Non taxed income? Subsidized this, that or the other thing? It gets complicated and all most people think about is “Is the other getting my stuff?” It’s the rare bird who answers that question with “I don’t care. I doing fine.”

~say what?

You pay taxes to persons you’d like to see locked up in prison. This is perhaps the biggest indicator that we are slaves to the Matrix. The traditional notion of slavery conjures up images of people in shackles forced to work on plantations to support rich plantation owners. The modern day version of this is taxation without representation, knowing what the Sales Tax is per gallon of petrol, and taxation where ‘income’ is automatically docked before we ever see the $, regardless of whether or not we approve of how the money is spent. #1 of Sixteen Slave Questions

Actually they don’t. As the article points out, tax credits benefits the poor such as earned income credits, American Opportunity tax credits, Child Care tax credit. Savers tax credit or mortgage tax credit- all are income limited so that they pay lower income people more than wealthier. That article saying how unfair it all is excludes this from their calculations.

“The 400 richest U.S. families now pay a lower overall tax rate than the middle-class, the first time that’s happened in 100 years, according to economists Emmanuel Saez and Gabriel Zucman.

The tipping point came last year when the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which was signed into law by President Donald Trump at the end of 2017, took effect. While Mr. Trump vowed that middle-class families would be helped by the tax overhaul, experts say most working-class families saw only a minimal benefit, while the wealthiest citizens got the lion’s share of breaks. In fact, Saez and Zucman argue, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act turned the tax system on its head.”

Why are Guest, Guest and Guest1 rambling on about insignificant taxes? Do you believe people are still this ignorant? Since you know not what you say, please hold your willingly uneducated opinion of mort (dead) gages (chains).

~never mind, take my hand . . . We have two choices while living here on planet earth. The truth or the lie.

Banks do not lend money.

MORTGAGE FRAUD, ESTATES, TRUST, AND YOUR LIFE

Real Estate is when you have an estate or interest in real property. That can happen when you have a mortgage on the property, but it can also happen when you have a colorable title to the property. A colorable title is any title that is not lawful title. Nobody gets lawful title these days. It is almost always colorable.

Always, always, always remember -land under American Law is conveyed and described only by “metes and bounds.” Every other description for land not by metes and bounds is fictitious. That is how the so-called “mortgages” and “property taxes” and “zoning restrictions” are imposed against some fictitious property description which people in their ignorance assume “ass- u- me” must be their land -WRONG! Hence, people are buying thin air on a thirty-year “mortgage” that is not a lawful mortgage, with a “promissory note,” “a negotiable instrument,” and “Deed of Trust” behind the “mortgage” -which is debauched by “conflict of interest” without “mutual valuable consideration,” as required under the “Law of Contracts” -more fraud. So, one bought thin air agreeing to “pay” monthly installments for thirty years using worthless paper.

Now, what did one really get for his worthless paper? Mostly more worthless paper. One particular instrument given at the “closing” is useful for one’s ‘capturing title’ process. One is given a “Warranty.” That instrument declares in writing under seal, the highest form of lawful real estate at common law, that no one earlier in time has any claim to that land! So, under American Law and “Law of Nations” that land is abandoned land. Abandoned land may be claimed by the first one who comes and settles upon it! That be You! So one simply need make claim to that parcel of land to perfect absolute “fee simple” title. Really quite simple to do. See: 2 Bl. Com. 258; Co. Litt. 6; Ib. 110b, 115a; Bouv. 148; 4 Inst. 275; 8 Coke, 92; 1 Bl. Com. 138; 2 Bl. Com. 2, 5 1 Kent, Com. 108, 184; Taylor v. The Cato, 1 Pet. Adm. 53; Seymour v. Canandaigua & N.F.R. Co., 25 Barb. “N.Y.# 284, 301; Fassett v. Smith, 23 N.Y. 252.

Always, always, always remember: No “allodial title” at common law! Absolute ownership at common law is known as “fee simple” or “freehold.” Simply read Webster’s Dictionary, First Edition “1828;” also in Funk & Wagnall’s Standard College Dictionary “1966” or [Judge] Bouvier American Law Dictionary.

A “Warranty Deed” is merely an annex to a “Title in fee simple!” So, today is presented a “Warranty Deed” at the “closing” but then the buyer never “perfects” his “Title in fee” by his “Claim to Land;” so, the land continues in abandonment unless and until someone executes “Claim.” Hence, the current procedures for conveying land across America are an implementation of the ancient Roman Civil Law concept “emphyteosis,” infra.

By American Law, lands have not been properly conveyed for several generations; -every one who believes they purchased land and dwelling are technically at law “tenants in adversity,” or “adversarial tenants,” or “in adversarial possession” “squatters” and the land remains “unclaimed” and therefore “abandoned.” Land lying unoccupied is given to the first occupant. C.L.M.; Bl. Com.; A right descends, not the land. Co. Litt. 345. Additionally, a fictitious entity, ss. “U.S. citizen” or corporation, cannot own a Freehold, by law: Hence, the use of “Warranty Deed” today.

You recorded your private property into the public records, which is against the law, and so abandoned it. [fraudulent inducement withholding of material facts]. –said somebody sometime.
