Missing Man Found Deceased East of Garberville
Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On 10-23-2019, at about 7:00 AM, the Sheriff’s Office conducted follow up on a previous report of a missing person near the 3000 block of Sawmill Rd. in Garberville.
Deputies from the Special Services Division, Criminal Investigations Division, and members of the Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Posse [as well as Southern Humboldt County Technical Rescue] responded to the area of Sawmill Rd. in Garberville to conduct a search for the missing person. It had previously been reported that a male subject had left the residence on foot and had not returned.
While conducting a search of the area, Deputies located the male subject who was deceased.
The investigation is ongoing. Further information may be released as the investigation progresses.

This is the 2nd story about this person, yet we still don’t know his name. I wonder why?
Because law enforcement has to notify families. Our society has decided that the media isn’t the way they want people to learn of a family member’s death.

But in the 1st story, he was just missing. They usually tell you who is missing.
The man has been missing for about a week and a half. I suspect they were concerned.
You do know the family needs to know before you do right?
I got some rumor mill today from neighbors. Missing person was sent by land owner to evict some one living in their barn. Guess land owner knew there might be problems, the evictee killed the messenger. Please feel free to update and correct the rumor.
Oh so much more to the story…I hope the Sheriff Dept. looks at the prior history of domestic violence between missing person and his partner, the crazy red headed chick, who was arrested for stabbing him (non-fatally yet still required an ambulance [personally saw the ambulance take him away]…) a few years ago.
