A fire broke out near Dyerville Loop about this afternoon. CalFire received a report about 1:52 p.m. of a vegetation fire near Dyerville Loop Rd and Fort Seward Road to the east of the area between Phillipsville and Redway.

The fire is currently over an acre in size, according to Cal Fire’s Battalion Chief Paul Savona.  An air tanker, air attack, and Copter 102 are all assigned to the fire, he said.

UPDATE 3:16 p.m.: Cal Fire reported the fire is about two acres in size. However, Copter 102 is leaving the area which usually indicates that forward progress on the fire is stopped. Here’s a photo from Cal Fire via KMUD.

A beautiful area. Long views, big sky, and beautiful oaks scattered on sloping grasslands. I hope it’s out soon.
