You Can Apply for an Open Vacancy on Arcata’s Planning Commission

The City of Arcata is seeking community members to apply for one open volunteer position on the Planning Commission.

Arcata’s Planning Commissioners play a key role in shaping Arcata’s future with the Commission having final authority for most planning and physical development within the Arcata planning area.

Important projects the Commission will have the opportunity to work on are sea level rise and its effects on our community, general climate change policies, future housing and in-fill development in Arcata, and the construction of the new Open Door Community Health Center and the Arcata Gateway corridor project.

Those who apply should have interest in learning all aspects of City planning, development and historic preservation. Applicants with a background in Natural Resources or Environmental Compliance are encouraged to apply.
