[UPDATE 3:22 p.m.] Closures/ Impacts/ Open Businesses for Today, Wednesday, October 9 (We’ll Update as Information Arrives)

Closures:

• All Humboldt County Offices 
  • UPDATE: The Humboldt Superior Court assures us that they were open today and will be open tomorrow. If you are a juror or summoned to appear, then you should do so.
• All Humboldt Senior Resource Center programs and Senior Dining Centers will be closed on Wednesday, October 9.
• For a list of schools closed, click here.
• Adorni and Wharfinger facilities are closed in Eureka.
• Eureka Department of Motor Vehicles Office is closed (DMV)
• Garberville DMV is closed but “Customers with drive test appointments are being redirected to the Fort Bragg field office. Your driver license and vehicle registration appointment scheduled at the Garberville field office will be honored at the Fort Bragg field office.”
• Six Rivers National Forest says that their “offices are closed except for the Gasquet Ranger District office, which is open. Fire staff also remain on duty.”
• Humboldt County says,

Public services at these facilities are open or operating at minimal capacity:

Sheriff – Patrol remains fully staffed and stable. Administration and Records are closed
California Redwood Coast – Humboldt County Airport
Probation – Main (Harrison) and Drug Court limited operations
DHHS Public Health Lab
DHHS Division of Environmental Health
DHHS Public Health Nursing
DHHS Child Welfare Services, including Emergency Response
DHHS Mental Health is open for vital services (Sempervirens Psychiatric Health Facility and Crisis Stabilization Unit and Same-Day Services are open)
County Counsel – Covering court hearings

Not closed but impacted:

• Play Station 777 on the Blue Lake Rancheria: According to  Andrea Marvin spokesperson, Customers have a $20 dollar fuel cap due the high demand. Currently the line is wrapped around the tribal office and back onto the street. The station is on generators. The micro grid is powering the rest of the campus. They received a shipment of fuel at around 8 in the morning. They are not selling diesel fuel to the public but are filling emergency vehicles that need it. Also the station has ice.

• Amelia’s Restaurant in Garberville: Open
• Miranda Market is open and has fuel but expect lines.
• Vocality Credit Union is open. You can get cash at the credit union but you need an ID. ATM now working.
• Only Renner Gas Station is open in the Garberville/Redway area.
• Ray’s in Garberville is open. They can take cards. The pharmacy is closed. The clerk said they will likely stay open until dark.
• Napa Auto Parts is open.
• Healy Senior Center is serving lunch–German meatballs. $8. All are welcome.
• Shop Smart is also open. Liquor store is open, but deli is not.
• Debs Diner is open
• The Pineapple Express Rood cart in upper Garberville is open
• Garberville Redway Veterinary Group is open from 8:30 – 2 pm Monday – Friday during the blackout. Dr Roy Smith said, “We can not provide full services at this time, ie. no radiographs but will do our best to help out the animals in need. “

Northern Humboldt:

• Chevron on Giuntoli is open in Arcata.
• Renner on West End Road in Arcata is open.
• The City of Arcata is recommending that all Arcata residents conserve water and minimize sewer use during this time.
