MEDICARE FOR ALL would reduce pleas for help with medical expenses to zero. You know that, right?

Absolutely would not. Travel (a serious expense in rural areas), hotels, taxies, non prescription items, unapproved medical equipment, keeping a home up while away or getting extra help while at home, etc would still be unreimbursed. I once has surgery in San Francisco which cost me about $10,000 out of pocket (Medicare is far from paying everything) and cost me more than that for the many trips down for specialist’s visits, who ordered test needing another visit which lead to another return to another specialist who ordered more tests, pre op visit, blood tests the doctor wanted done there, not here, the surgery. The whole UCSF experience while life saving was not designed to help remotely placed patients as every single visit needed 3 days stay due to needing to be there to be at the hospital early in the morning and getting out to late to get back. It was a haul paying off those things.

You clearly have zero understanding of MEDICARE FOR ALL.
It would be good for you to do a bit of research, hopefully before the primary but surely before the election.

Wonder if the mother and child has started a Go Fund Me Page? People should not have to ask for medical help in this country. Stop giving it to the illegal immigrants (hear me Newsom?), and provide the care they need so badly need now. I truly believe our country has lost control of the ship, and it is headed for the rocks!

Many of these stories are taken by the press from GoFundMe pages. Many if not most minor children in California do get MedCal to take care of medical expenses. It does not cover all the side expenses, although MediCal, unlike Medicare, does pay some. Anyway these is probably for non medical expenses as $10,000 would not cover much of any inpatient costs at a hospital.

Medi-Cal will take your house when you die.

No, it won’t. That law was changed several years ago. Relax, get medi-cal if you qualify. It is a great program, pays for some dental care and some vision care now.
I have medicare AND medi-cal and I am extremely grateful that I live in California and qualify for these programs.
And you won’t really need your house when you are dead anyway😜
