Road Damage and Falling Rocks Being Reported
Yesterday’s hard, fast rainfall, well documented here, has left North Coast roads with large pot holes and loose rocks. Several drivers have called CHP dispatch today to report obstacles of these type in the roadways around the region.
Play it safe and allow more travel time than usual for a sunny day.

Any word on what roads/areas????
All of them. Look out for new potholes and fallen rocks.
Uh no not all of them liz.
I drove many today with no new problems.
Sorry kelly but its not newsworthy unless you can give us specific spots to watch, especially if the chp tells you where. Otherwise this “article” gives no news, it just states the obvious thing we all know, lots of rain at once can impact roads. If folks cant figure that out on their own they shouldnt live here!!!
I was nearly hit by a falling tree on 101 at Loleta. Thank goodness noone was on my left because I swerved instinctively and fishtailed through the top of the tree. I didn’t stop untill Eureka where I’m trying to gain my composure.
Wow! glad to know you are ok.
Next time stop and call chp so the tree can be cleared.
Very irresponsible not to!!!
Hay folks it’s the same every year with fresh rains bring down rocks and trees.
I learned a great lesson in the Burnt Ranch bluffs years ago.
When it was freezing
Wish y’all the same good luck
