Traffic Slowed in Eureka After Crash at Intersection of Henderson and E Took Out a Signal This Morning

Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Henderson and E Streets in Eureka at 6:07 this morning, according to Eureka Police spokesperson Brittany Powell. The traffic signal was damaged and a stop sign is being brought to replace it temporarily.
Expect slow downs in the area including on side streets.
One person went to the hospital as a precaution. Both vehicles were badly damaged.

That seems to be a hotspot for wrecks. Tiny turn lanes and good shopping area.
I crossed there on foot the other day. My heart is still racing.
At 6:07 am there are very few vehicles and rarely any pedestrians. The traffic signals change rapidly at that time of day once a vehicle passes over the sensors in the road. One of those drivers was inattentive.
You’re right. The lights are well time to move through that area. It pays to be cautious at that time.
