Showers Today, Rain Tonight for Most of Emerald Triangle (But Record Setting High Today in Eureka)

They warn, “The first seasonal rain of the season will arrive today into tonight followed by showers on Monday as a cold front moves through the region. …Also, another storm system will likely bring additional rain Tuesday into Wednesday.”

Generally, the further north and west you live in the Emerald Triangle, the more rain you are expected to have.

The National Weather Service also tweeted at 10:35 this morning, “Our radar is showing rain off the coast. Won’t be long now for those in Del Norte County.” Click here for the latest radar to see when it will hit your area.

Remember, after the first rain, roads will be slick. Leave extra time for your commute on Monday.

And, as an interesting note showing that summer is still with us, the National Weather Service in Eureka tweeted, “And that’s a record! We just exceeded the record high for the date, September 15th. The old record was 74F, set 110 years ago in 1909. We are currently sitting at 75F here on Woodley Island.”
