Thousands of North Coast PG&E Customers Could Benefit from Monthly Energy Discounts

Press release from PG&E:

PG&E

Thousands of income-eligible customers could save up to 20 percent or more on their monthly energy bill by enrolling in Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s (PG&E) California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) Program.

The CARE program gives income-qualified households discounts on their energy bills, but thousands of eligible customers are not signed up for the program and are missing out on significant savings.

“We want our customers to know they have the power to lower the cost of their energy bill. We hope the remaining eligible customers will learn more about the program and enroll,” said PG&E Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer Laurie Giammona.

PG&E estimates more than 74,000 customers throughout its service area could save on their monthly costs by enrolling in CARE. In Sacramento County alone, which has the largest number of eligible customers not enrolled, more than 33,000 households could lower their bills by simply signing up for CARE.

Customers can apply for CARE online or via paper applications that are available through numerous community agencies throughout PG&E’s service area. Applying is easy and only takes about five minutes. If they qualify, customers will begin receiving the CARE program discount within their next billing cycle.

Every year, the California Public Utilities Commission adjusts the maximum qualifying income levels for CARE to reflect changes in the federal poverty guidelines. CARE is funded through a rate surcharge paid by all utility customers.

PG&E is a FOR profit corporation. Corporations control and make and set the rules for prices in America. It’s call free enterprise! And Trump signed off on a largest corporation tax bill that opened the door for more price controls. Many major corporations do not pay one dollar in Federal taxes and receive huge refunds. Millions of dollars. And I paid the highest federal taxes I have ever had to pay in my working life. Many CEO’s of corporations make 1000 times more money per year than the lowest paid worker. We pay for that. PG&E is no different. They gave bonuses after they filed for bankruptcy. They said they had to because of contracts. The fix is in. And the Republicans just passed the largest Federal budget pushing our tax debt to over 20 trillion dollars. And you know who is going to ultimately pay for that! Our president goes golfing on nearly every weekend and he taps the taxpayer for 1.5 million dollars plus receives taxpayer dollars for his stay in Mar A Largo. Then I recently found out my State Farm fire insurance jumped twenty dollars and an increase in auto insurance. State Farm is a FOR PROFIT corporation. We are getting slammed from every direction. And Glory Be I got a 2% raise in salary. I figure I lost 10% in salary because of Corporations and bought off politicians taxing me more. What happen to “Drain the Swamp. It is bigger than ever. They want to play, they should pay. The Trade wars are killing us! I’m voting for the person who wants to raise corporate taxes back to where they were before Trump and McConnell. And the Candidate who wants to kick the lobbyists out of Washington. And quit getting us involved in wars we have no business being involved in to the tune of billions and billions of tax dollars. And they only way to do it is to VOTE………………….

~at first glance, this may seem like it doesn’t fit here, however, when we’re talking trading our labor value for no-value FRNs . . . and, this is “hot off the press”, i think there will be concurrence.

What “Right To Keep And Bear Arms” Is That?
Posted: 23 Aug 2019 08:22 AM PDT
By Edwin Vieira Jr.

A short while ago, a friend of mine who is an ardent advocate in “social media” of the entire Second Amendment—including its first thirteen words, “[a] well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State”—related a verbal altercation he had with a proponent of the so-called “individual-right theory” of the Amendment, which focuses exclusively on its last fourteen words, “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” This fellow chided my friend on the grounds that, were “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms” tied in any manner whatsoever to the Militia, tens of millions of Americans now capable of exercising “the individual right” with respect to some (albeit not all) kinds of firearms could (and probably would) be denied a right to possess any firearms whatsoever, because they could (and probably would) be excluded from the Militia. Recognizing this complaint as the product of a variety of industrial-strength ignorance that afflicts all too many Americans today, I felt it incumbent upon me to post a rejoinder.

What can “US Citizens” do about it in the corporate “court” system?

Learn your jury rights and duties and use them.

~Notice it is to “US Citizens”, to whom it certainly applies. Obviously this doesn’t apply to American State Nationals, so don’t give me a bad time about it. Somebody has to do something to wake up the average Joe on the street.

Just like Medicare and Social Security and TANF and Food Stamps and unemployment and Farm Aide and the list goes on and on. Socialism has been American for a long, long time. It’s all socialism.
