[UPDATE 3:57 p.m.] Vehicle Fire Spreading to the Vegetation South of Manila

A vehicle is on fire near Peninsula Drive and New Navy Base Road as of 2:35 p.m.

The vehicle is fully engulfed and flames are spreading to the wildland, according to the scanner.

Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.

UPDATE 2:45 p.m.: The Incident Commander says he has sufficient resources at scene to handle the fire–which is a good sign.

UPDATE 3:57 p.m.: The fire has been extinguished leaving a burned heap of metal.

~doesn’t it just do the heart good to see these pictures of firefighters on the scene? – MAN, they’re great. A fire starts – and they’re ON IT !

It’s a 73 Chevy El Camino. I owned this exact car about 10 years ago. Gave it to a friend. He let it sit there and rust and mold..He passed away 2 years ago and I never saw it again..too bad..
