[UPDATE 2:42 p.m.] Chopper Headed to an Accident With Multiple Injured People Near Bloody Camp

A black truck reportedly crashed off a back road in the Bald Hills/French Camp area about 12:45 p.m. Three occupants were injured, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.

An air ambulance (helicopter) has been requested to respond, according to the scanner.

Hoopa Fire is coordinating with Cal Fire and an ambulance to respond to the situation.

UPDATE 2 p.m.: The incident is reported as a major injury accident.

UPDATE 2:30 p.m.: According to Rod Mendes, Hoopa Fire Chief, There are three victims, all teenagers. He said that two of the victims are in critical condition and have been flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Eureka. The third victim is being transported by his mother.

Mendes told us the California Highway Patrol and Hoopa Tribal Police are investigating the cause of the accident.

Hoopa Fire, Hoopa Volunteer Fire Department, Kimaw Ambulance, Hoopa Police and the CHP all responded to the incident.
UPDATE 2:42 p.m.: We believe that there were two helicopters, one from REACH and one from Cal Fire.

The 2 boys that were flown are really banged up but in stable condition. Bumps, bruises and concussions but no bleeding or breaks. Thanking the creator above for letting them all be okay.

So Greatful to the Creator that these teens are ok! My son was in a similar wreck 8 years ago, age 15, and we’ve never found him…
