This is a press release from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans District 2):

REDDING – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans District 2), in conjunction with Hayes & Sons, Inc., is set to begin work on the 96 Culverts Project on State Route 96 in Siskiyou County. The $2.7 million project will replace or rehabilitate approximately 28 drainage systems from just west of Cottage Grove to just east of Fort Goff.

Construction activities are anticipated to begin in late August. Motorists can anticipate up to 15 minute delays, Monday – Friday during daytime hours. The project is anticipated to finish by the beginning of November, however weather conditions in the fall may extend parts of the project into next year. A 45 MPH speed limit reduction will be in place around construction zones. Please allot extra time and travel slowly and safely around crews working in the area.
