Trinity County Office of Emergency Services to Conduct Follow-up Test of Warning System

Press Release From the Trinity County Office of Emergency Services:

Trinity county office of emergency services featureThe Trinity County Office of Emergency Services in conjunction with Trinity County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a follow-up test of the CodeRed and Integrated Public Alert Warning System
(IPAWS) on August 14th at 9:00 A.M.

A second test was advised by the CodeRed vendor in order to allow them the chance to correct the network timing and switching issues encountered during the previous test, which resulted in some residents not being notified.

It is also important for residents to load the CodeRed phone numbers into their cell phone before the test to prevent confusing the test call with a spam or robocall. It is recommended to save the two numbers into a single contact and name it “CodeRed” or “Emergency Alert”.

The two numbers that are used by the system are 866-419-5000 and 855-969-4636.

Residents are urged to sign up for a CodeRed account, and anyone not receiving the test notification can register for CodeRed at https://public.coderedweb.com/CNE/en-US/BF42F95647FB or by calling OES at 530-623-1116 or sending an email to [email protected].

Please include name, phone number, cell provider if adding a cell phone, and physical address if leaving a message or sending an email.
