[UPDATE 10:11 a.m.: Permitted Owner Describes a ‘Cool’ Encounter With MET] Convoy in Mad River Area

Convoy on the Move Chipper feature IconThis morning, the MET (the Marijuana Enforcement Team) is working north of Mad River and Hwy 36 in the County Line Creek Road and Ridge Road areas.

There are multiple reports. One reader described seeing around 15 vehicles. The team reportedly gathered at the Mad River Ranger station before heading to the north.

We’ve reached out to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office for more information and will update when possible.

UPDATE 10:11 a.m.: One permitted property owner is delighted this morning. He said that the MET team showed up on the road through his place. “There’s like 25 cop cars all the way down the dirt road as far as you can see…They were obviously in a hurry…We had the road blocked by a truck that we were loading garbage [with into a dumpster].”

After the truck got out of the way, the team continued to the property but when presented with paperwork, they politely left. “They were cool and moved on,” the owner said.

The owner was particularly pleased because, though he felt he had done everything possible on his end, the state delayed in processing his information and his state licenses had lapsed. “We were in the grey area between,” he explained. “The state temp license expired but [the property] has valid county permits. The state is slow [processing the permits].”

He said he was delighted that the team’s actions “follows what the Sheriff’s Department has been saying.”

Even though it was early in the day, he said, he thought he’d “crack a beer.”

Yes nothing like being marked as guilty and having to prove your innocence. Maybe they should hand out patches shaped like a marijuana leaf with the word compliant sewn in. We can wear it on our outter clothing to help identify us growers easier to law enforcement. The excitement he had in proving his innocence right there in the field of battle. Why do we need courts that is for people who have rights and follow the law like our marijuana enforcement team. They include judge, jury and prosecuter all rolled up (pun intended) and deliver your verdict at your front gate. Such a feel good story I can not wait til they start gathering us all up and move us to special housing in urban areas called ghettos.

Sounds good. Also they can tattoo your permit numbers on your forearms to make them easier to remember..I

I say on the forehead that way law enforcement can just read it when we look up from taking our bong rips. Making us dope growers remember to look at our forearms is kinda tough since according to the one and very few research studies ever done states smoking marijuana cause short term memory loss.

So the popo rolled a convoy to a scene, checked the paperwork, and left. Has the HCSO ever heard of computer records or a telephone?

Hey geniuses in the HCSO why don’t ya make a few phone calls before you waste thousands of tax payer dollars rolling a convoy to check papers. There is stupid, and there is HCSO stupid. NOT COOL. NOT COOL AT ALL. You could be out evicting old people from trailers with tear gas ffs.

Hey [edit] , have you ever thought about the fact that a permitted farm could be out of compliance by having a larger canopy space than what is permitted? Or other issues you cant tell from sitting at your desk and pointing a finger. [edit]

All I see is law enforcement claiming this individual is guilty and he has to prove his innocence. In America I believe the law states you are innocent before being proven guilty. So, in the future when you get a speeding ticket a convoy officers with a tow truck will stop by your home and make sure you have all your paperwork for your appearance in court if not they impound your vehicle. Prior to all this they will scout their path with a helicopter justified by the fact they are ensuring the safety of the convoy when it deploys. Kinda like in Afghanistan when they move into Taliban held territory but hey this is America land of the free!!!!!!

When a cop turns on ‘emergency’ lights to stop someone and asks for license and REGIStration, and then writes a summons-ticket, executes it and demands one’s bond in the form of an agreement to appear, and then serves the summons, the cop is breaking the laws:

1) The turning on of lights means an ‘emergency’ is in effect. The cop wants people to think he is stopping traffic and that the one being stopped is the ‘emergency.’ Where was the emergency? Nowhere, of course. The cop just wanted to perform a “traffic stop.” By doing so, the cop
perpetuated several fraudulent actions.

a) The cop deceived the one being stopped into thinking there was an emergency.
b) Impersonated a government official on emergency business. The cop in reality is a Corpora Ficta employee and not a government employee. He has no authority of a government official at all.

There are TWO lawfully excusable conditions for seizing property or People: 1) A warrant of the
law. 2) First-hand observation of a crime being committed.

This is not just the law. This is constitutionally mandated.

–codes notwithstanding – well, unless you volunteer in the Matrix.

Two cents.

It is a great point, however, if you added a tow truck pulling up with the officer then my perspective changes. The stigma of what we have done for so long is the justification to use intimidation tactics. If we are a business then only one person in a truck is necessary to cite the violations. I have not heard one time as of yet where any force from the public has been used against the marijuana enforcement team. Yet, we see choppers and fully armed soldiers running through our hills.

This is their last grab before seizure laws change in this country is why. That money used for enforcement could of been spent on assistance programs to help farmers get compliant and support local farms in teaching them the new cannabis business. Nah, they’d rather intimidate and put fear into the locals over Humboldt supporting a legitimate business.

Just my viewpoint….blessings

Years ago Massachusetts decriminalized possession MJ under an ounce. In a LEO chat room/ broad (whatever they’re called) one of the LEO’s pointed out that if you took the small amount of MJ and soaked it in water it would weigh over an ounce. So the question is do we want a representative of the county or state cannabis program who is trained in measuring canopy size coming out with a tape measure and a clip board making sure that your in compliance or a
large convoy of heavily armed LEOs looking to chop down as much as they can and seize anything of value?

I can’t quite tell if it means they were driving to his place, to bust him, then left when they saw his paperwork, or if they were driving to a property further down the road his grow is on and decided to do a paperwork check while passing through.

Permitted Growers aren’t part of the
cannibis community. Carpetbagging pieces of s***. Our community created all the strains gifted them to the medical community. Your apathy towards the attacks on our community is noted.

The plant is sacred and the same as it was five years ago, tho now massed produced and commoditized… it was more legal under 215 than 64, that much is obvious.

It gets absolutely crazy for permitters doing paperwork for the State AND the county at the same time. We’re talking a paperwork nightmare. Between the county, the state and law enforcement there’s bound to be mix ups.

They’re using helicopters contracted with PJ Helicopters out of Red Bluff. Most of them are blue and white. Also the tail numbers all end with the letters PJ. Right now some of them are doing PG&E line work in Mendo. Additionally, they’re using air resources from the military which are dark colored.

Indignant 1,

The Trader has an article on page 6 “People for the Republic”.

“Representatives often say this is a nation of laws and then say, “We’re a democracy,” as if there is no real difference between the two. The word democracy isn’t in the Constitution and it is not in any of the 50 State Constitutions. You can find the word democracy in the Communist Manifesto”.

People of the Republic meet at 7 pm every second Tuesday of the month at the Fortuna River Lodge.

Let’s talk about the budget for 20 cars and personnel every single day of the week for a seek and destroy mission, which is the same tactic we use against our ‘enemies’ during wartime.

Military operations against the civilian population, PAID FOR BY THE TAXPAYERS.

Over a weed.

Back before the greenrush and easy street for everyone we would hide under the trees after camoing and stashing everything and sit and listen to the scanner, the chopper, and CLMP reports or the CB radio and drink beer and everything else we had all day while the raids happened. Gathering in little neighbor groups where it was semi safe and watch our friends and neighbors hard work fly off in a net. Hell yeah, I would crack a beer if 25 armed cops turned around in my driveway. I highly doubt he was celebrating someone else’s demise, more like lucky to have survived, even with paperwork you don’t feel safe from this.

I guess they were lucky to be there. Show up after a trip to town to meet with the planning department only to have everything cut down. “Whoops sorry no one was here to provide the paperwork” In another sense it sets a precedent. All who have been raided with lagging state permits should get their crop back.
