If you were driving to Garberville from Alderpoint, there is a road (Old Harris Rd) that will cut over to Old Harris instead of going all the way to the junction on top of Pratt Mt. There are already Detour signs up.
The main Harris Road is not affected.

Do 3 weeks really qualify as permanent, or is it more temporary in nature?

I never knew that road has a name. I think it is the original Alderpoint road, which was bypassed when the current road from the top to about 5 miles towards Alderpoint was put in – possibly in the 50’s or 60’s. Since it is not paved, it is , in the words of the poet, “the road less traveled.”

They can’t stop you all pot suppliers so they are going to block off your shipping lane. Kinda funny. Just like the Iranians are doing to oil.

Yeah, hilarious considering there are maybe 5 addresses on the Old Harris road. It’s not a main road, it’s dirt and most people avoid it because it’s always in terrible shape.

Everything is changing; the world and our concepts of culture, society, values and priorities are transforming even as I write this. And yet, and yet — the idea of permanence should still mean something longer than 3 weeks, even now, and even to the Humboldt County Roads department.

It can be accessed from Old Harris so it’s not a huge inconvenience to those that live on it.
