drove by the Pines Sunday heading west on hwy 36, there are a lot of plants very visible from the hwy. Hundreds of them. Can’t imagine how many more there are over the hill and out of sight. Going back on the 9th of August, will see how it looks then.

They are not protecting legal weed they are protecting corporate greed. Wall Street government endorsed marijuana stock market shares from mega corporations investments In giant grows. Where is the money going to go not into emerald triangle mini grows even their big permitted things will soon not be allowed.
Through manipulation in the white market they will shut those down and we will only be left with corporate Wall Street stock market marijuana

I cut over on 36 last year during the Carr fire from 299 on my way to Chico. I have never seen so much weed growing in my life. Thousands and thousands of plants. I’m not against growing. I’m from the era of the mom and pops grows.

Massive environmental degradation all throughout the pines…
All we have outside of the cannibis industry in our area is recreation, hunting, fishing, and small time lumber.
They all need to exist in harmony with one another.
Do what thou will…
But do no harm!

No worse than any subdivision in the hills above San Francisco or where ever else they are put in by the thousands in California. The real culprit is the counties and them allowing sub-divisions(Trinity Pines, Rancho(Murder Mountain), etc), in the hills like this in the first place without any real foresight or long term design considerations. Let bygones be bygones though as these subdivisions all happened decades ago back when people like Bob McKee could walk into the planning department and submit any subdivision for approval and get it that day. The entire Trinity Pines tract has been written off by CDFW/WQ as it is more than they can handle and they consider it a dead zone now. They are more focused on saving critical watersheds where the ecosystem still has a fighting chance (See Barker Creek).

Holy GUACAMOLE!😢
Any body study earth science much? In Riparian Watersheds such as this photo the trees and vegetation maintain the water table. When the fog rolls in or the night humidity ⬆ one large tree can suck hundreds and hudreds of gallons of water out of the air. This water is essentially injected back into the earth/ rocks. Yes even rocks hold water. So remove all your vegetation both large and small and your land degrades in numerous ways. Earth compacts, nutrients drift, erosion, lack of wicking etc. Then additionally, the water goes where there are live roots and other undisturbed factors to hold it there. Those factors help disburse water in the upper layers of soil by holding spaces for water to travel. No roots or grasses you remove them all and the soil turns to infertile dust. Large grass plants can be 300+ years old having root clusters spanning acres wide and hundreds of feet deep. Remove all that and heres your start of tons of issues. 😢🤤🤤🤤

the original sin was Trinity Co. thinking that subdivision would be a good idea! If you packed all those parcels with Shelter cove style houses, and attempts at lawns, it’d use even more water…and still burn down every few years.

yup, spot on. no infrastructure installed at all. the lots should have never been sold. the drill guy just drives from lot to lot digging everyone deeper. at least most of them use port-a-shitters.

Trinity County Sheriff investigating code violations? Ha Ha! Sounds like the county is making rounds for “fees”. Like Humboldt the sheriff will leave alone any grow anywhere in the permit process even without state or provisional or track-trace or whatever. Just an application from 2 years ago and pay those fees and taxes! They are stoked out there!! Imagine if CDFW, Water Board, etc etc agencies showed up w/ National Guard- plants would be eradicated. Trinity County Sheriff is actually doing the Pines a service by “checking it off the list” for those agencies… And so the most heavily concentrated mega-grow area is spared yet again. Amazing. You can see this collection of scenes from outer space…

on the current course they (HCSO, TCSO, National Guard) will be able to hit 310 grows this year. 2% is a huge achievement, everyone involved should be proud to have wasted so many tax dollars on such an achievement. meanwhile the massive hard drug problem which exist completely independent and driven by locals living below the poverty line is booming.

Come on folks! This is just little Susie and little Johnny’s medicine to cure what ever ails them! Not the total fucking environmental destruction, murder, raid, ripoff, nightmare that the grweed (medicine/recreational) industry has blossomed into… Any one that says different is clearly a fucking racist…

It’s a shame, raping the land for profit just like big business….. Federally legalize it so it can grow in everyone’s garden.

” Federally legalize it . .”

Umm….that is a myth. They will not allow that. Federal “legalization” is just a bigger and more complete corporate takeover. Please DO NOT fall for it!! Already we have seen NY and NJ push “legalization” bills that mandate an allowable amount for people to grow as ZERO plants. Yes. NY Governor Cuomo stated that allowing anybody to grow any plants at all would lead to a black market that would make it difficult for a “white market” (read corporate/state profit market) to succeed. Yes. Their idea of “legalization” is allowing you to buy the corporate weed from the corporate dispensary that is grown by corporate-owned and state-permitted mega-farms. Yes. And these are the liberal states back there!! “Legalization” does not mean more freedom- it actually means less, just like here in CA. DO NOT drink the kool-aid!!! We can and should do better, But first we must resist the corporate/state definition of “legalization”!!

I went and checked the 8 parcels TCSO visited last week and all the plants are still there, so I guess TCSO only wrote them a ticket. Business as usual in the Pines
