[UPDATE 12:51 p.m.: Video From Surveillance Tape] Grandmother Helped Foil Violent Home Invasion Robbery in Cutten Yesterday

An alert grandmother helped foil a violent, armed home invasion robbery attempt on Berry Lane in the Cutten area of Eureka early Tuesday morning.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, told us, “My dogs woke me up growling menacingly…about 2:30. I got up thinking it was a bear in the garbage…We have a bear that has been frequenting. [If we make noise], it just freaks and takes off…I heard something at my screen door. I looked out and didn’t see anything.”

She started to go back to bed but then she said, “I heard something cough. Two coughs…I quietly opened my door. There was something coughing in my front yard.” She thought it might be the bear “huffing” but she didn’t see anything.

She closed and relocked the door. But then her dogs alerted towards the back of the house. She says she was particularly concerned because, “My dogs normally they just barked. [This time,] they just had a deep menacing growl.”

She was a little worried. She explained she didn’t have much backup. “It was just me, my chickens, my grandsons, and my dogs,” she told us.  “I went to my back door….I could see someone at my travel trailer…Someone coughed in the back yard of my neighbors. Then my neighbor’s motion detector floodlights came on.”

At 2:46, according to her phone, she called 911.

Soon, she saw a “a lot of police.” She told us, “The cop cars just kept coming…It turned out that the guys that were trying to break into my house went into my neighbor’s.”

She said her neighbor later showed her tape from his surveillance system that filmed one suspect trying the back patio door and then walking around to the front.

Later she discovered that two men “smashed out” her neighbor’s front window and pointed a gun at him and assaulted him violently when he tried vigorously to resist.

“If you saw the inside of the house, you could see the struggle was fierce,” she said. “Blood all the way through his house…The bruising was just horrendous…I just cried when I saw his face.”

Luckily, she said, that when she called “there was a deputy just two blocks away.”

She said she learned that as the deputy was driving through the neighborhood, he saw that the neighbor’s front door was open and the window was broken.

The deputy and other officers were able to catch one man they believe to have been involved. Another escaped.

Samantha Karges, spokesperson for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that “there was a home invasion on…Berry Lane and a male victim received moderate head injuries during that home invasion.” She wrote in an email, “One arrest was made and it is believed that one subject is still outstanding at this time.”

The woman who lives on Berry Lane said, she thought “the cough was signaling…Some kind of code.”

She said she doesn’t know why she and her long-time neighbor, an older man, were targeted. “I grew up in the house I live in. You hear about home invasion. It usually involves pounds of weed. I don’t know why they would target my neighbor. He’s very quiet, very lovely,” she said.

She added, “They didn’t hit a rich neighborhood. In our neighborhood we don’t have doctors and lawyers. We’ve got school teachers—middle-class, hard-working, family people. A lot of people have been here for decades.”

Then she said, “If [they] would have gotten in my house, [they] probably would have killed us…If this officer hadn’t been on Beechwood drive just two blocks away I don’t think my neighbor would still be alive…The Sheriff’s Office was phenomenal last night. They responded appropriately in force and rapidly and I think that is the only reason my neighbor alive. They just saw the door open. If I hadn’t seen that guy at the trailer, I would just have thought it was a bear and wouldn’t have called anybody and he’d be dead.”

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Pares Terrance PoolOn July 16, 2019, at about 2:51 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area of the 6200 block of Berry Lane in Cutten for the report of an unknown subject attempting to gain entry into residences.

A deputy on patrol in the area arrived on scene within one minute of the call and observed a male subject running across the roadway into the yard of a nearby residence. While attempting to locate the subject, the deputy was contacted by a 63-year-old male who stated he had just been the victim of a home invasion and the subject observed fleeing was believed to be one of the suspects.

According to the victim, prior to the deputy’s arrival two suspects wearing ski-masks broke a window and entered his residence while he was inside. When confronted, one suspect brandished a firearm at the victim. A physical altercation ensued between the victim and the suspects, during which the victim was struck multiple times with the firearm and other objects. During the altercation, the victim was able to remove one suspect’s ski-mask and obtain a description of the suspect’s appearance. Following the altercation, the suspects fled on foot from the residence. The victim sustained moderate, non-gunshot related injuries and received medical treatment on scene.

While patrolling the surrounding areas, a sheriff’s deputy located one suspect, later identified as 20-year-old Pares Terrance Pool, walking near Walnut Drive and Avalon Drive. Upon deputy contact, Pool fled. After a short foot pursuit, Pool was taken into custody without further incident.

Pool was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, battery with serious bodily injury, resisting a peace officer and conspiracy to commit a crime.

The second suspect in this case is still outstanding at this time. He is described as a black male adult, in his 20’s, approximately 6 feet 1 inches tall, wearing dark clothing, a ski mask and red Nike-style shoes.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the reporting party in this incident for reporting suspicious activity in their neighborhood and preventing additional crime from occurring in the area.

Anyone with information about this case or related criminal activity should contact the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at 707-445-7251 or the Sheriff’s Office Crime Tip line at 707-268-2539.

UPDATE 12:51 p.m.: This video is from the neighbor’s surveillance tape. It shows two men skulking around his home before they broke in. https://neighbors.ring.com/n/2nm8R?fbclid=IwAR3xAInFpl-m3Bj7uaiS_ev54Wrvo8z1ms6Xh0qgQ_zlHSjWW8oCxRsrVTg

But you can’t, A lot of people would like to say the obvious but the P/C police will delete you. I wish someone would compile the stats in the last 3 years of violent crimes in Humboldt- Trinity county and rank it by ,well you know, age or education level or something.

What is obvious to me is that wealth inequality will kill us all in the upcoming economic crisis if we do not get the rich paying their share of the tax burden, and also rebuild a sense that we are one nation working together for everyone’s best and highest good.

What is equally obvious to me is that a lot of people look at the most superficial elements of a situation and exhibit a remarkable lack of curiousity.
Thats the root of bigotry btw

Pray tell us, what the impacted colon conservative solution to crime is. Could it be, like:
A. Build more prisons, but not in my backyard.
B. Something, something.
C. Success!

Yet, when some showboat con rips off workers, contractors, launders drug and mob money all to the tune of millions it’s just “white collar crime” and let’s all wear his cool hat.

Nah. With masks on, who knows? Lotta lily white tweakers running around, waving the stars and bars, absolutely crazy. One of these people, no matter where they’re from or other, is going to break the wrong window, kick in the wrong door. I’d like to say I’d hold off and give someone a second chance, but it is unlikely. And I’m as “liberal” as it gets. I just haven’t given up intellect for buying into the blind consumerism of believing the lies and blaming everyone else. Blind follower conservatism is the mental disorder, not being concerned about others.

Conservatives don’t generally “follow” anyone. It’s the natural state for those individuals who trust their own abilities to believe that they themselves are their best choice for a good life because they have succeeded already. They object to the government burdening them with obligations to support others who have not done what they did or making changes by fiat that get in the way of their ability to take care of themselves. They as much as anyone feel validated when they hear similar thoughts from others but they would be what they are if they never heard any support.

Liberals on the other hand are prey to an endless army of people telling them about how they are owed yet they have little confidence that they can achieve this without government making it happen. They love government fiat that makes everyone
pony up to achieve this equality because they have no faith that an individual can possibly be as successful . No matter how many times government action has ugly side effects, they have faith that this time they will get it right.

In truth both are right because there are different people with different capabilities. Whether you are liberal or conservative depends on whether you think that individual freedom will give the most people the most good or you think that government regulation does it. I like the freedom more just because is a challenge and that is its own reward. I am happier with my earned share, even if it is not as much as some others. Whereas always being told what others have while you don’t and complaining/demanding equality sours even what successes the government can manage. No one who relies on handouts ever feels as secure and happy as the person who relies on themselves and is even just somewhat competent about it.

Right. Sure. Are you living under a rock? I dropped my Republican Party registration back to Independent when the Orangutan in Chief stated “there’s good people on both sides.” There isn’t. My great uncle was murdered by a nazi prison guard. There are many, many “liberals” who rely on intellect rather than blind following, as the current “conservatives” seem to espouse. Follow. Follow blindly into the abyss. Shout “Constitution” when you have zero understanding. And, naturally, believe everything your beloved leader says.

I agree that we need to work better together as a nation, but we have been throwing money at black communities for years, and all it has done is bankrupt local governments, with no improvement to crime rates or and minimal reductions in poverty. Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results… The economy is booming right now, and this guy could easily get a job that pays for an apartment and a decent way of life if he chose. Maybe not in Humboldt, but plenty of other places. If you have a dirt-poor, ubiquitously black community, you end up with Cook County Chicago, the murder capital of the country. If you have a dirt-poor ubiquitously white community, you end up with West Virginia, with a terrible drug problem, but not a tenth of the violence. Taxing people and economics aren’t gonna fix that. Not saying I know the solution…

ernestine, you can’t be serious! This guy doing a home invasion robbery is the result of us not giving him more money through one of the many programs already in place giving out money!!!

You are the epitome of what is destroying this country….liberalism is a mental disorder.

Namely: no personal accountability for ones actions, no respect to others, not part of society, sense of entitlement to free money with no responsibility to give back….on and on.

Yeh that was trumps boast, he was a real smart guy because he pays nothing in the way of taxes. When Obama said ‘they didn’t build it”, referring to the rich, that went right over their heads. He was rightly pointing out that it was taxes that paid for roads to their factories, public education that supplied a knowledgeable work force , police, fire ect. Wealth gap eventually sunk the Romans, just a question of time before it happens here. But hey, look over there at that shiny ball!

Not quite. Obama was not referring to the rich at the point he said that piece of innanity. He was referring to the idea that collective action where a group does something that an individual can’t which he tought a justification of taking more in taxes. He said “The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together. There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don’t do on our own.” But in the end he did say “If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” He fell back on the typical liberal idea that discounts the individual’s efforts in favor of the magic of government action. Unfortunately then he cited examples where the taxation was self imposed for the benefit of those taxed and repaid by users. They were loans by the government, not give aways. He missed out that things needed to produce enough to justify their cost to the people WHO PAY FOR THEM. No surprise there.

To hold up President Amber Alert and his swampy cronies and the rest of his spineless followers in politics, religion and otherwise is so laughable. So you think that -say- the NBA should be forced to hire wheel chair bound players? Or that a double amputee should be allowed to run an Olympic sprint in a motorised wheel chair? Or a person with cognitive limitations be allowed to conduct surgeries because he has an equal right despite a handicap that could kill his patients? Or how about denying a talented student access to an education because it is not fair that his parents are rich and the space should be allocated to a less talented person so who didn’t have an advantage of wealth?

How much of society’s resources should be spent in overcoming a lack of equality at birth in the speculation that there’s a hidden jewel in there somewhere? What if society discovers to the horror of liberals that there is a genetic component to success in a field or a genetic component to failure, like addiction? How much of its resources should society throw on a problem without much of a chance of success?

Or should society reward those determined to succeed despite handicaps because it has the practical result that it sorts out those who are going to succeed automatically and everyone doesn’t have to divert their own measure of success into a high number of people who can not ever contribute? What is a fatal handicap is society not knowing the difference between blocking the chance of success for self serving reasons and artifically suppressing the successful to allow room for the inherently unsuccessful to have equality.

People with every advantage fail and people with every disadvantage succeed. It is a better place where both things are on offer and not limited by the best of intentions.

Total agreement.

Skilled tradespeople are in high demand right now. We have a lot of honest work available. The reported numbers from WADC are off the charts.

Why work if I can steal?

Because we don’t sanction nor make work look better than crime. Steal some Grandma’s goodies and you too can be a flaming star. Work 2 weeks for a paycheck or some sort of compensence, and you’re tired and grumpy.

It’s hard to believe maybe, most thieves love to steal. That’s it’s form of survival. Survival is the key word. Why do we continue to exalt the dishonesty while continuing to feed the system that survives by serving the crimes against innocent people?

Crime and obligated punishment is the strength while tax and spend is the weakness. Take from the providers and give to the maintenance of Enforcement, while ignoring who’s doing the crimes. It will never self-correct itself. Victims are people too.

They ARE in their country. They are black, so don’t confuse the issue. This is not about illegal immigrants coming into this country committing violent crimes. This is 2 black male individuals targeting private senior residents for violent home invasion robberies. Regardless of race, these are the most dangerous kind of criminals because they are entering occupied homes with guns. That is proof they are prepared to kill the occupants. Statistics do not lie. Do white people commit these crimes? Yes, but not as big a percentage.
Blacks commit 8.5 times more robberies than whites. White victims and black offenders are 12 times more common than Vice versa.
We are in an age of over political correctness that is creating a very dangerous atmosphere. We cannot continue on this path because you are giving carte blanche to this population to commit these heinous crimes. It’s like the mother who always makes excuses for their child’s bad behavior blaming others until she creates a monster.
Just stop. Look at his picture. He is black. He committed the crime. He just contributed to the already high statistics of black violent crime and the already high statistic of black on white violent crime. It is what it is so don’t be afraid to say it. Its the truth based on fact.

There are 300 times less people crossing the Canadian border! Your point is busted. Do math. The largest growing gang in the US in prisons and on the streets are the MS-13. Where are the MS-13 from? El Salvador and Guatemala. Keep em coming!

Ms 13 is actually from Los angeles.
It never really got a foothold in el Salvador until we deported their leaders.
Due to the lack of law enforcement there it was able to grow and move back to the us with younger members unknown to our law enforcement here.
They have been able to exploit our immigration system and send soldiers to nearly all medium and large cities in the continental us.

“It’s like the mother who always makes excuses for their child’s bad behavior blaming others until she creates a monster.”

That’s often literally true when kids grow up to be thugs like these. Single moms, usually. Anyone who has had parent contact while working in public schools can tell you that.

The taboo against acknowledging statistics on crime and race, particularly interracial crime, is one thing that lends credence to neo-Nazis and such. Leaving it to racists to acknowledge these facts is not an effective to response to either racism or crime.

Breaking things down in to racial terms: Given the crime statistics mentioned, the question is why. Why are there racial disparities in crime? Is there some inherent genetic or cultural defects present, inferiority, if you will? Or are we witnessing the inescapable effects of historical and generational trauma? As individuals, and as a society, we need to begin to make those distinctions. Is this evil verses good, or simply the inevitability of cause and effect?

Cultural defects, leading to abdication of responsibility, preoccupation with short-term selfish gains, and an “everyone owes me” mentality. “Historical and generational trauma” does not explain or excuse ghetto culture.

You seem to be blaming a morally defective, ‘ghetto culture’ . Since ‘ghetto’ has a racial dimension that goes beyond poverty your are coming down on the side of a defective, inferior, black culture. In a country so saturated in white privilege, it’s black entitlement, ‘black privilege’ at the root of the problem.

Jim said it best: You’ve got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know… morons.

A ghetto culture is found anywhere the GDP is net negative, often due to the action or inaction of its inhabitants. An area where the GDP is made up of weed farmers who pay little or no taxes, illegal workers who pay little or no taxes, and the chief export is illegal weed which produces no taxes is duh, ghetto culture. Gubberment needs to do this, gubberment needs to do that, none of that will happen without a positive GDP. The white ghettos of northern Cali ship weed to the ghettos in southern Cali. Ghettos beget ghettos.

Want to make a million dollars in Humboldt? Open a tattoo parlor and piercing joint that caters to pit bulls. See…..moe ghetto culture.

As if that is an option. Either spelling- heel or heal- needs the agreement of the individual to whom it is being applied and there will always be those who refuse to accommodate. That’s why liberal ideals sound good- everyone wants people to be what they think of as productive – but always proves a failure when turns out that few really support that ideal when its applied to them personally.

Great comment! I’ll say another obvious thing- It is now up to the Humboldt County DA office to prosecute this crime aggressively and get a very serious sentence rendered if found guilty. This is a terrible and violent crime. The police did their job. Now I hope the DA finally does their job! Oh- and give that dog a bone and a hug for me…

I don’t completely disagree. But I’d still like the DA to do their job- for those who don’t want to keep a loaded gun at hand. And I do consider myself liberal as far as that means anti-authoritarian in letting people do their own thing in their own space and evening the playing field for those who want to work and contribute. Okay- maybe I’m a libertarian w/ a liberal social disposition ha ha

It’s called statistics. It has nothing to do with racism. They didn’t target them because they were white. It wasn’t a hate crime even though it was hateful. But statistics show black on white crime is higher than white on black and black on black crime is greatly higher than white on black crime. The biggest killer of black men is other black men. That statement is not racist it is a statistical fact.

But that’s what liberal has come to mean. Victims are all lumped into the assumption they are good and are due protection when when they may be just as evil as anyone else and protecting them as a knee jerk compensation allows their evil to grow out of all restraint.

Victimization should be stopped because it is damaging to good and bad alike. But it should not be rewarded either because it rewards good and bad alike.

i’m not a pet owner anymore because they’re too hard to loose. However, it’s been my observations that cats tend to be much more sensitive to their surroundings (and bad energy signals) than dogs. And yes, that could be out my backside maybe.

Here I’ll say it. In at least the past few years the majority of criminals apprehended for committing these types of crimes (home invasions, armed robberies, burglaries, etc) in this county (because the news on this site is local news for this county that’s here for the citizens of this county even though anyone anywhere has the option to read it) have been black men. Like it or not that is the fact. Nothing racists about it. For those of you who will say it inevitably let me just stop you by saying yes people of other races have also been apprehended for these types of crimes.

Guest

There have been some groups of black men who have targeted people here. Some connection to the marijuana black market in the bay areas is my best guess. And it’s probably a specific gang, who happen to beblack, targeting as a specific crime operation – https://www.eastbaytimes.com/2018/12/06/oakland-arrests-made-in-series-of-marijuana-grow-robberies/ so if a black gang has decided to fleece the hicks of Humboldt, than they are not likely to recruit other races for these crimes just like the Mafia took time to spread out from its Italian roots. Until then it gave Italians a real black eye with the public. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Italian_Anti-Defamation_League

But as for violent in general, most has not been race specific and not the fatalities at all.

I believe Kym, referred to it as “righteous indignation.”

To many, it’s just more intolerant static that plays into a division that doesn’t need to be further inflammed.

I’ve done my research into this guy.

He offered links to point out where he’s been “published”, to back up his push to challenge people with their own beliefs.

He has put a tremendous amount of time and effort into helping expose the 9.11 truths, even ran a silent auction for the victims of 9.11.

He has definitely taken some hard knocks, trying to do what he thinks is best, in his own pursuit of “the truth.”

I heard a well known modern day philosopher say that he “would rather be wise than smart”.

There was also a great quote about the fact that just because you are a Nobel Laureate, doesn’t make you a good husband/father.

—____—___—-
James Trower

“From my experience from others; negative people need love and support from others to become positive again. people became negative because they been lied to, deceived and betrayed (bullied) all their life. Ignoring them will make it worse. Your negative attitude is not necessarily your fault. It may come from others on how the treat you. There’s no such thing as one person having all the power to make life happen. My advice is; be careful what you say and do to others that may cause them to have a negative attitude”

———–‘

I empathize with how far down the rabbit hole this guy has gone, and he’s obviously experienced trauma or is merely reacting to a thin skin.

Intelligence can be a dangerous, double edged sword for many who have not yet learned the fine art of s/wordsmanship.

Fair enough that many people here are pointing out the obvious, and your voice is losing its relevance, when you push the negative side effects of your thought processes.

“Righteous indignation ”

You can accept it from Kym, but being a positive part of the conversation will help your points.

Links are not facts. They are simply more information that requires judgement too. Please explain, in the light of accusations that came to the fore during the nominations of Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh, how the dispositions of the issue reflected “white power” in the case of Kavanaugh but not in that of Thomas. Or did it reflect “white power” with Thomas in the way you contend it did with Kavanaugh?

Yeah, I’m gonna keep bugging you until you either provide a satisfactory logical explanation or concede the point.

I’m no expert on Clarence Thomas.

But firstly, Anita Hill was not raped. She accused Thomas of sexual harassment.

Brett K. was accused of rape.

Thomas was nominated by white power and voted in through white power.

But I dont think Brett K. and Clarence Thomas cases are very similar, other than in both instances it was better to be a man than a woman.

It was a white men not listening to a black woman, if I must find something racial quickly for your example.

Joe Biden recently apologized to Anita for his part in not listening to her.

On 25 April 2019, the 2020 US presidential campaign team for Joe Biden disclosed that he had called Ms. Hill to express “his regret for what she endured” 28 years ago, when, as the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he presided over the confirmation hearings in which she accused Clarence Thomas, President George Bush’s nominee to the Supreme Court, of sexual harassment. Ms. Hill said the call from Mr. Biden left her feeling deeply unsatisfied.[42][43]

Fail!

Kavanaugh’s accuser was found not credible. There was a reason she had to be persuaded to testify: she did not want the accusations contained in her letter to Feinstein to face the scrutiny of a full investigation with a public hearing.

If you want to compare the allegations against Thomas and Kavanaugh, you could just as easily contend that the Thomas case was stronger because the alleged incidents took place between adults and in the then-recent past.

In both the Thomas and the Kavanaugh cases the politically opportunistic allegations, not supported by any record of any established process, were deemed out of line. You have no basis for contending that those results were based on “white power.”

Joe Biden is responding like a jellyfish to the identity-baiting that has broken out in the Democratic nominating process.

Uneducated single mothers of any race tend to cause problems down the road. You’re the one trying to rationalize such problems by invoking race. Daniel Patrick Moynihan was on the money.

Your manipulative game of trying to tar anyone who disagrees with your POC-can-do-no-wrong-because-of-historical-grievances narrative as racist is old, tired, and played out. And it plays into the hands of white extremists.

Is the obvious that the arrested fellow is black? Is that the point you soooo wish you could make? Have you scrolled through the crime pages on here? It is not dominated by black folks, it is dominated by the local white population. Does that mean we should all be terrified of every white person we see? should we share a knowing nod everytime another white guy gets arrested for car prowling and drug possession?

I’d submit that we should all take a moment to recognize how many internalized biases we carry around everyday and how unhelpful they actually end up being in helping us to navigate this muddy world.

Not so fast JustSomeGuy.

Our internalized biases are why we are alive today 7/18/19. Up until recently humans procreated primarily as a result of bias in mate selection. Imagine if bias didn’t make the rules required for our existence.

Young humans just reaching reproductive age, don’t believe mating bias exists. Old folks understand the bias and ask for the permission to leave biases unchanged.

Darwin’s explanation confirms the importance of mating bias.

Can political correctness ever be correct ? No, it’ll never happen as long as 3 people are still alive.

Statistics 101. Compare the number of crimes associated with certain groups to their portion of the overall population, then decide if whether or not there is a disproportionate representation of some groups. The raw numbers of crimes do not provide a meaningful comparison without knowing what portion of the local population is within any given group.

Yes, there are risk factors that help identify whites to avoid – druggies hanging out, belligerent guys with skateboards…….

These poor young oppressed men did nothing wrong. They’re just undocumented tenants. If the old folks would have just put up a “gun free zone” sign, the thieves would have just went somewhere else. Liberalism is a mental disorder.

All anyone needs to do, for a simple bit of research is open the “Crime” tab at KymKemp.

There are hundreds of pages if not thousands. Each page has 10 posts.

Some posts are regarding cannafarm raids.

Some are vehicle related – and if you remember examples like Marci Kitchen, I would count some as violent crime, but didn’t yet.

Anyhow, just go looking through the pages.

https://kymkemp.com/category/crime-2/

I’ll help crunch the numbers if someone wants to get real crunchy.

Also notice the comment counts. If the crimes are from a minority, the comment count is larger. Mostly comments condemning minorities for their crimes.

(Excluding the recent white Supremacist flyer, which was an article about white power, but still be ame a discussion of the problems with blacks)

But most comment counts are quite lower when the crime is by white people.

It seems the big white struggle mostly lies in trying to stay out of the crime section for Humboldt county.

Another struggle may be trying to come to terms with your racial bias as a community, in general.

Look closer.

Race baiting is too easy. Easy distraction, like gender, sex etc. You’re no stranger to the fact that internet addicts are idiots. Brain dead wastes of oxygen. You know better than anybody who the regulars are on your blog. So what do you expect from them but low blows? That said, if you look at comments as either insulting or not, then what? I’ll tell you: you see insults, to which very few argue with anybody calling a white criminal an ugly fat inbred hick. I dare you to either write or commission an article about political correctness. It’s a stupid game that fuels itself. The more you ban a word, the more power the word has, and more brain dead wastes of oxygen will try to push peoples’ buttons with it. Case in point, this post on this blog, which is a form of modern day public humiliation in the first place.

Just a quick perusal of your “crime” folder and the stories that are just press releases don’t tend to get many comments. Marijuana stories get a lot.

This story is particularly brazen. Home invasion while occupied is not the usual anywhere in the USA. The first hand account plus video certainly draws more eyes to it.

Outside of pot this is the most comments (in the last few weeks)prior to the confused white kid poster:
https://kymkemp.com/2019/06/29/driver-tried-to-flee-last-nights-fatal-crash-into-home-on-foot-but-citizens-captured-and-held-him/

This one is a pretty low count and he is not white:

Classic.

We can spend the next 5 days giving single examples for any point.

But as a whole, I’m right.

Did you read the article that was pingbacked @ your comment? You’re just trying to find examples to defend your bias.

Regarding the posts, unfortunately you have to click each article around page 7 of Crime, that’s where the comment count isn’t visible anymore.

I actually did this 2 months ago, when I was tired of racist hypocrisy. I explored it long enough.

My point is true and accurate:

White stabbing/18 comments:

https://kymkemp.com/2019/06/13/stabbing-in-crescent-city-last-night-suspect-arrested-for-attempted-murder/

White wanted for murder of grower/ 19 comments

https://kymkemp.com/2019/06/07/chp-want-publics-help-in-identifying-a-person-of-interest-in-shooting-death-of-a-humboldt-county-cannabis-grower/

White man attempted murder / 7 comments

https://kymkemp.com/2019/06/06/man-sought-for-attempted-murder-after-allegedly-shooting-into-a-vehicle-stopped-at-a-traffic-light/

Those three articles combined dont have more comments than this one.

And none are regarding the race of the pretty white boys.

There are more racist comments on this one thread than total comments on those 3.

Look at my response. It took me moments to compile that.
Because it’s really frickin simple what’s going on…

No pingback on my comment. To what are you referring?

One of your linked stories is a press release. .. as I noted, press releases don’t get many comments. The other 2 are pretty short on narrative.

This story is long on narrative with video. And a very brazen crime.

I figured my comment would spur you. Do a real statistical sample and let us know how racist we really are.

I believe Kym, referred to it as “righteous indignation.”

To many, it’s just more intolerant static that plays into a division that doesn’t need to be further inflammed.

I’ve done some research into some of his past meanderings.

Ignoring them will make it worse. Your negative attitude is not necessarily your fault. It may come from others on how the treat you. There’s no such thing as one person having all the power to make life happen. My advice is; be careful what you say and do to others that may cause them to have a negative attitude”

Unfortunately, with Trump being as loud of an asshole that he has been this week, combined with white supremacy fliers in town, and the ensuing debates in the thread, I think this was not the best comedic timing or point..

Damnation. No wonder Humboldt Co is becoming such a mess. People taking the easy, non thinking route at the slightest excuse. Yes I think there has been a gang related targeting of Humboldt Co. And I think that gang consists of black men from the East Bay. But to say that black people are all bad because of one group is a mindless response as is the knee jerk refusal to admit the obvious. Having problems with a black gang does not mean that there aren’t Irish American gangs somewhere targeting someone else. Or Russian or Mexicans or any other identity. The lefties are right about one thing- it didn’t take much for the villagers to come out with their pitchforks and feel justified being a mob.

What I wonder is why out local police have not acted to stop this group? They must know who these people are.

I very thoroughly argued ideas….that you don’t like. I made very rational arguments, such as the uptick in black crime in a white community, and reasoned that it makes sense that there are more comments due to that fact, not because people are racist. People, who don’t have their heads buried in the sand of political correctness, are noticing this as a recent phenomena, which is another reason people are talking, not simply because their racist. To bolster that point, I challenged Brian to look back 5,6,7 years at the comment section to see that this is a relatively recent phenomena.

The most offensive thing I said was that Brian is “the real fucking problem. Well he is. Throwing the word racist around with abandon and assuming people’s ulterior motives is dangerous. It is the reason people get smashed in the head with bike locks, and journalists get beaten to the point of a brain hemorrhage by groups like Antifa. The points I made I haven’t seen anyone else make and could potentially shed some light on alternative reasons why people are commenting. Maybe it’s not as simplistic as “he’s a racist”. Perhaps some punk, seething with hatred and bent on violence would have read my tirade and had some understanding shed into his shallow brain. Perhaps some tragedy would have been averted.

Kym, you admitted yourself that you don’t want to be seen as even partially agreeing with me as it could be dangerous. That is a rational fear and, unfortunately, what this country has devolved into. My comments are dripping with sarcasm I admit, but as I pointed out recently, are nowhere near as insulting, or dangerous, as being labeled a racist. The ideas that I argued offered rational, alternative reasons as to the potential motives of commenters, yet you whitewashed them anyway. I’m sure it gave you satisfaction but if what I’m saying is true, that my sarcasm is less dangerous than being labeled a racist (of course that’s true), then it comes off as petty and self serving. And if you have whitewashed ideas that offer an alternative to the racist narrative that liberals so wantonly throw around, you only solidify the belief that liberals are not interested in debate or free speech, hence my incessant cynicism.

Me pointing out racism in general should not be a problem for you.

Prejudice may be a more suitable term?

Your comment above says this:

To bolster that point, I challenged Brian to look back 5,6,7 years at the comment section to see that this is a relatively recent phenomena.

Yes. That’s true. The rise of Trump has given more voice to prejudice, bigotry and racism.

But no one likes to be called a racist or prejudiced, really.

The RAM leader claims his organization isn’t racist and complains he doesn’t even know what the word “racism” means.

https://www.propublica.org/article/white-hate-group-campaign-of-menace-rise-above-movement/amp

The next day, “RAM members collectively pushed, punched, kicked, chocked, head-butted, and otherwise assaulted several individuals, resulting in a riot,” the office said.

https://www-m.cnn.com/2019/07/20/us/white-supremacist-group-sentenced-rally/index.html?r=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cnn.com%2F

On race and prejudice:

-Prejudice refers to a preconceived idea about a particular group, while racism involves an unequal distribution of power on the basis of race.

-Sociologists have found that racism has led to a wide range of detrimental outcomes for people of color, including unequal access to jobs and housing, as well as an increased risk of being a victim of police brutality.

-According to the sociological perspective, members of privileged groups can experience prejudice, but their experience will be different than the experience of someone who experiences systemic racism.

https://www.thoughtco.com/racism-vs-prejudice-3026086

I’m not advocating for antifa by saying any of this.

A good gun for home defense is a pump shotgun with a short (legal length) barrel . Remington or Mossberg seem to be the old standby.

A hand gun is perhaps a bit more useful. However — and a big however — is becoming proficient with a handgun takes practice under competent instruction, then regular practice. I believe a good revolver is better than an auto; largely because they`re simpler in operation. Smith and Wesson or Ruger are quality guns.

The most important part of having a firearm for defense is practice and familiarity. Under conditions of stress — such as when your house is being broke into in the middle of the night — your fine motor control immediately fails. This isn`t the time to figure out how your gun works. There is a good reason soldiers, cops (the good ones), etc. drill and practie to the point of reflex action.

Remember, your weapon does no good whatsoever if it`s not in your hand when you need it or if you can`t operate it.

Yessir. Whatever you get know how to use it and know it well. The best firearm is the one you have in your hand.

Short of that carry a club and know how to mimic the sound of racking a round in a shotgun. That’s scary enough to chase most people off.

If you have children in the house or potentially visiting, keep your hand gun secured in a quick access lock box / safe, of which there are many options. And if you can, teach your children how to shoot and safely handle firearms, that takes the mystery ot of it and teaches responsibility. And they might be the ones saving you depending on the circumstances.

Figures you’d think that but it’s actually the Democrats that refused to condemn hatred of Jews and use of antisemitic language by their members. And Trump did admonish his followers. Not all conservatives agree with leadership and saying so just shows close mindedness. The left has raised its hand many time to attack and hate anyone that has a different opinion. Do you know any actual conservatives? I do and they are not racist they are decent people who go to work, raise families, pay taxes, volunteer, recycle, and take their trash to the dump. They also cry at the loss of their loved ones as do liberals. They have to buy groceries or garden to have food. It’s a fool’s errand to label and group of any name, race, gender, religion, or politics as all the same. Why does the liberal party believe every group in this nation deserves a voice and freedom EXCEPT conservatives and Republicans? That in itself is hypocrisy.

There is good in both parties. It is absurd and ignorant to say any one group is the same or deserved to be treated differently (duh that is the whole idea of racism remember?). I cannot even believe how you people sound. They beat up a 60 year old man!! And this is a political problem? You guys have so much hate in your hearts to talk about people you dont know this way! The kids on the street here are so high on meth and heroin it is tragic! My own daughter chooses to live in a camp and use meth. She chooses it! Young people are choosing it because there are no consequences for stealing, using, or even committing violent crimes such as stabbing. These are 18 to 25 year olds, and many of them have homes and families willing to do whatever it takes to help them. Instead hateful people insisting on blaming others give them excuses and blame victims for working and paying rent. You all need to turn of TV and media and get your ass out in the community and meet some of the actual conservatives and liberals working together to affect change instead of spewing this lazy hateful ignorant crap. Boo you suckers. Just put your names as, CNN, FOX, MSNBC oh wait never mind it’s obvious! These little shits deserve time! Bet you’d feel different if it was you or your loved ones head bashed in.

Lots of this discussion is carried over from the white supremacist flyer discussion.

Many in that discussion used the thread to point out problems with black communities.

It was an article about white supremacy.

Ya, theres some frustrations. Everyone has frustrations.
