Why would MCSO repeat that “Tickner refused further medical treatment and was released at the scene since he was refusing further medical attention.”….. Seems if he was really found dead on the Hwy 2 hours later that maybe there was some internal hemorraging from the bat & that maybe MCSO may already have known the rest of the story when this pr went out…. tragically violent event in one of the most historically violent places in the entire Wild West….. Covelo has an intense history which anyone who has studied would know…. it was once the home of 20,000+ people who lived there at once, those first inhabitants were slaughtered, then it was a place of genocide where indians were sent from as far away as So Cal and Klamath, once they reached Covelo Valley Aka Nome Cult Farm/Round
Valley, they were restricted from leaving even though they were starving and starved to death. When detainees would kill a stray cow or a sheep or pig to satisfy their hunger after all the game had been shot and chased away, they were mercilessly hunted down and slaughtered, not just the guilty starving indian, but the entire village would be wiped out and killed, women, children old and young alike. Women young girls and young boys were kidnapped, sexually exploited by prominent Mendocino Pioneers and “driven” like cattle to Sacramento and San Francisco where they were sold to wealthy families and wealthy ranchers for sexual desires and servitude. Open up a history book like Genocide and Vendetta The Round Valley Wars, When the Great Spirit Died, Killing for Land, The Destruction of the Indians in Mendocino Count, Google William Jarboe, Eel River Rangers, Mendocino War, Mendocino Genocide, Mendocino Trail of Tears, these genocides were sanctioned by the “prominent good citizens” of Mendocino County…. study the history of how we got to this violent present day…. Covelo has a blood stained genocidal history.

Carol is correct, this is the just the beginning of this story. That said, when Ms. Dorazo struck James on the FOREHEAD she showed some grave malice. When she handed the bat to Colter to finish the job, that in my opinion, is diabolic. The story, as Carol stated, continues. Soon I believe we’ll see two Blackbelt stories mesh into one.

Covelo is Alderpoint on Bath Salts…. for comparison…. Alderpoint is just spun out tweekers and druggies, Covelo is multi-ethnic community of survivors who survived a 150 + year holocaust and genocide by the state and Mendocino County Citizens, Government and Sheriff Department. In all honesty, imho the Covelo crime has really gotten out of hand in part because Sheriff Tom Allman doesnt really like or care about Covelo or Indian peoples in general. Covelo has suffered for decent law enforcement ever since Deputy Miller acccidently shot his partner Deputy Davis and they were unsuccessful at framing the murder on Bear Lincoln….. Covelo is Mendocino’s Forgotten step child, they pay great sums in taxes and get no protection or services in return…. this is the shamefull racist legacy of Mendocino County: shame on Allman, shame on shame on MCSO and Mendocino County Board of Supervisors!!

Does RVR really pay County taxes? The role of Sheriff’s deputies on sovereign land goes according to agreements between the Tribal and County governments. Of course, if the Tribe doesn’t think they’re getting their money’s worth they can withdraw and use the funds to bolster their own police department.

Prior article on Durazo.

>”Jessica Durazo entered the female’s house holding a pump action shotgun. Durazo said she was going to “kill” one of the female’s family members who was sitting in the living room.

Durazo then pumped the action of the shotgun, at which time the female told Durazo to get out of her house because she was calling 911. Durazo left the house breaking windows on a vehicle parked in the driveway…

Deputies learned Durazo was on summary probation out of Mendocino County and had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for violation of probation. Durazo was placed under arrest without incident.”

Probation Violation. Felonious assault with a shotgun… and they let her out.

This is why we need to keep people like this in the brink. Eventually they escalate to this. Mendocino sure has had an upsurge of violent crime. Time to get these outlaws off the streets. Time for new legislation. It’s getting out of hand. Why these two were released given their past violent behavior is unbelievable! Sad.

We can thank Tom Allman once again!
Sheriff Allman Do ur Job!!

The Sheriff works for the County and the Board of Supervisors Must do something about the Sheriff doing nothing to solve crime! Mendocino County Sheriff is letting these gangs take over while the Sheriff’s ONLY CARE is revenue for his department by busting Cannabis Farmers and seizing (stealing) their property which the department and it’s deputies as well as the County cashes in on. Think about it, The Sheriff Department only wants to enforce laws and investigate crimes if there ks the golden goody of money to be made from assett forfeiture!!!! It is a capitalist Sheriff Department!! Meanwhile up to 35% of the Sheriff’s resources are dedicated to “marijuana eradication”…. yet there are numerous missing persons cases (upwards of 25-30) and numerous (15+) unsolved murder investigations which sit on the back burner while the Sheriff directs his forces to continue the focus on cannabis. It is simple to conclude that the Sheriff is misguided and is not looking out for the public safety or solving and fighting felony crimes and murders. Not only is the Sheriff prejudiced in his assault against cannabis farmers, but he is doing the community a real disservice by not fighting the gangs or arresting serious criminals which are robbing, burglarizing, assaulting, murdering, and destroying the safety of our community. Cannabis is already legal, the Sheriff needs to focus on solving real crimes not just seizing assets for his department! This is ludicrous that the war on pot goes on, it goes on with a complete disregard for the criminal gangs moving into the County, the war on pot goes on while missing persons families seek their loved ones but the Sheriff focuses on pot instead of solving crime. How many unsolved crimes are there in Mendocino, and all the MCSO does is go after asset forfeiture moneys….. we can thank Allman and Eyster for the rapant uptick in serious violent crimes.

A lot of times the criminal gangs are involved, illegally, with the cannabis scene. And we can’t blame the sherrifs when some criminal decides to go ballistic. A little personal responsibility, like my Conservative adversaries advise, goes a long way.

The victim was white, the assailants mixed race, white, native and Mexican so why the long diatribe about Native American Carnage? The role of the Sheriff? Marijuana?
We hate each other, no matter race or religion, say the wrong thing to the wrong person at the wrong time you get your face beat in with a bat. It’s happening everywhere, Covelos style of hate isn’t special it’s symptomatic of the plague that has persisted since the beginning of time.

The victim was a Tribal member…. so hopefully this case won’t be put on the back burner with the rest!!
It’s unbelievable how many people you see in the bookings for Failure to Appear or have warrants, and they are let out without having to appear on the FTA!! It surely looks like they are making money off the ones that have a bail amount. At least keep them until they go to court…being they already “failed to appear”!!!

Honestly, people at this point in time if you did a DNA test on everyone the amount of blood Quantum that’s truly native is probably not very much at this point. 💯 Very few people have pure blood anymore, who has pure white blood or Asian blood or whatever type of lineage it’s all getting fairly well mixed. But here’s the BIG ticket item folks… why the hell are we wasting time on Spyrock when they should be up in Covelo??? The level of crime up there as far as Mendocino County goes is multiple times the rate anywhere else in the county. Nearly 4,000 Sheriff’s calls a month go to Covelo no other community has even an eighth of that many calls a month. DUIs, tweeking as a lifestyle, Arson, rape, shootings, kidnappings, not to mention hundreds of hoop houses, ridiculous grows, incredible meth labs, violence after violence after violence. Hey MCSO, NATIONAL GUARD go to Covelo you’re wasting your time up Spyrock!!! Oh WAIT… that’s what it is they can get more money seizing things, money or marijuana etc than they can off the struggling wild west population in Covelo.
It’s like life in a Petri dish, life in a test-tube up there eventually it’ll all kill itself out if something doesn’t happen.

(Sighs) Covelo has been that way since the 1970’s… and maybe before that too.

Your comment is true enough though… there should be a substation up there with 4 deputies…
maybe (after a while) they might clean it up. Dunno.

💯there Bozo. Stating the obvious. Anyone can see whats happening in Covelo… even if they are blind in one eye and the other is clouded with cataracts!!!

Agreed Bozo they do need a substation there. MCSO just completed a cute little carriage house substation restoration in Mendocino. Hell in COVELO a trailer would do! Boots on the ground are needed up there! 😢😢😢😢😢

It’s a little more complicated with sovereign jurisdictions. How agencies such as Sheriff’s departments are allowed to operate is bound by agreements with the sovereign. The National Guard has no standing without an agreement between the State and the sovereign.

Sovereign does not apply to ALL of Covelo last I checked. There is A LOT of privately held land that funky things are happening on you bet your bippy! Possible too that some of the “sovereign” lands are being misused and they hide behind others and “sovereignty” as well. So here’s the thing if it ain’t “right” it ain’t “right” no matter where you’re from or who you are. Shooting, beating folks, killing, druggin’, excessive drinking, raping, molesting, siffing paint, slinging dope or rx pills and all that other stuff isn’t generally good behavior correct? And most folks might agree they hope that life holds better things then that list.

Yes, all that stuff is bad. Sometimes bureaucracy gets in the way of dealing with it effectively, which can lead to the frustrations expressed in this thread.

Based on the headline alone . . .
If the man had a bat, how did the couple beat him?
Or, was it a race, and the man had the unfair advantage of flight with a bat, and the couple still beat him to the finish?

Some days, the only way to stay sane is to make light of $h!t.
