[UPDATE 4:01 p.m.] Extrication Required After Crash on New Navy Base Road
A vehicle crashed into a tree on New Navy Base Road near Pacific Avenue at approximately 3:07 p.m., as reported on the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page. According to an emergency dispatcher, a California Highway Patrol Officer on scene said that extrication is needed.
The “party is conscious [but] still in the vehicle,” the incident commander said at 3:17 p.m. to the dispatcher. “[The patient] will need extrication… .”
The sedan is about 30 feet off the roadway.

UPDATE 4:01 p.m.: The CHP Traffic Incident Information Page is reporting that the patient was transported to the hospital with a broken ankle.

From the looks of the car, they were very, very lucky if all they got was a broken ankle.
