Information from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

On May 26, 2019, at about 4:40 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of State Route 96 for the report of a deceased subject located underneath a bridge next to the Willow Creek.

The subject, a 59-year-old male, was located by a passerby who had stopped to look at the creek.

Upon further investigation, the death does not appear to be suspicious at this time, but that the subject possibly fell while walking down to the creek. An autopsy is scheduled for today.

The homeless love to camp under the bridge, not a surprise at all. Unfortunately it is right up river from our water source for the town.

Do you ever even think of how fortunate you are to have a roof over your head and a door that locks. There but for fortune go you and. I
Humility and gratitude are better for your health.

It’s sad I’m not surprised that you jump to the assumption the man was homeless, or if it was just a broad generalization that anyone who falls under a bridge is homeless. That being said maybe you know something I don’t, but I’m also that mans son.. just sayin

I’m so sorry for your loss. Death is in the air here, it’s like a hungry beast. I’ve lived in Del Norte County all my life. I’ve lost so many loved ones, and loved people who have murdered those I knew, to this ugly death. I hope you get answers. Try to find peace even in the mourning. I’m so sorry.
