APD and Community Group to Meet for BBQ and Discussion
Press release from the Arcata Police Department:
On May 22, 2019 officers from the Arcata Police Department, the Valley West Business Watch Group and community members will come together for a BBQ to discuss Valley West community issues and build relationships.
All community members are invited to attend. The event will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the parking lot of the Valley West Shopping Center at 5000 Valley West Blvd.
This neighborhood event provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the work being done by the Arcata Police Department in conjunction with the Valley West Business Watch for the betterment of the community.
The majority of contacts law enforcement has with the public happen during emergencies, or emotional situations. Those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship building with the community, and some community members may feel that officers are unapproachable on the street. Take this opportunity to stop by and meet the police officers and business leaders who serve your community!
