Maybe he saw a ghost and it looked like him. Hopefully, he has survived this mishap. Of all places a cemetery!

Easy mistake to make on a riding mower. They can be very lurchy under brake/clutch and its easy to pin yourself, or hit stuff you didnt intend to.

Hopefully what ever injuries are minor and he can recover quickly.

Hi there! Sorry you hate you life so much that you feel driven to spread hatred to others. I hope you find a happier life to live and a desire to be a contribution to the planet, it feels better than spreading hate and negatively speculate about injured strangers.

Not necessarily, when mowing around trees, it is easy for a branch to snag a control arm and cause a sudden change in direction. With the mower moving forward, you can easily get driven under a branch that can pin you against the tree with the running mower holding you in place. Sad situation, a guy just trying to earn a living. I really hope he was found before he was badly hurt.

Really?

Hmm… Beloved nation? Lincoln? Sounds pretty conservative to me although that you think it’s not does show a problem with history. Bummers all around.

Think before you speak, and try a little kindness.
Then man fell off when he had a heart attack.

Poor fellow, I do hope he’ll be okay.
But wow. Straight out of Stephen King. I’d recommend that they have that Hustler blessed…

That’s not a Hustler, it’s a Walker mower.

Wow, super sad! I was just watching a homesteading utube video on heavy equipment, and the dude said those type of mowers suck and get stuck constantly. Even on perfect flat ground..He had one and couldn’t stand it. I have been looking for the best and easiest ways to cut out a bunch of black berries and huckleberry bushes..
Probably just going to stick to clippers now!

Weedwacker with a metal blade is probably the easiest. These zero turn mowers can be a bit sketchy, I hope this guy makes it. Yes, very embarrassing… not the blaze of glory I am looking for to go out on.

SmallFry – See if you can borrow a goat or two for a while. Seriously. They work. The state just set a whole bunch of them out to trim back the ladder fuel. And if you follow this suggestion, here’s another tip – don’t borrow long-haired goats, they get tangled up in brambles!

They do not get “stuck constantly”, and particularly on flat ground. I have a Hustler Raptor SD and I’ve never been “stuck”, and in fact, it does a great job contour cutting on a 5% slope. Just as a reminder, actual experience trumps (no pun intended) what you see on a glowing screen. I’m speculating this gentleman had a medical event.

This guy shows us how to turn them into baskets. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpJXpkhWHyg
It might be fun to teach the kids, homeless, and regular folk how to turn pesky vines into works of useful art. It might be fun to purchase one from the free capitalist booth at the edge of town for all our picking pleasures along the long road home. (as long as there are berries 50′ away from the exhaust fume road).
Just a few ideas for turning lemons into lemonaides while we toss the potential pectin.

I use a zero turn, recommend not using it for brush. It will break the spindles and other expensive stuff. They are easy to bog down too if the place gets a little muddy. Stick to weedwackers with metal blades or specialized brush cutting walk-behinds. ZTs are very responsive and fast, easy to tie up in a tree (fence or whatever), be careful out there!

Looks like the upper branch right above the back of the seat was the culprit. Probably mowed to close and knocked himself out and sat there idling awhile. That’s my guess.

Or simply could have become unconscious and subsequently run into tree.

This gentleman sadly has passed away. He was a Scoutmaster with a local Boy Scout Troop and a good man. He was extensively experienced in heavy equipment operation. Not sure exactly what led to this accident but condolences to his family. The local Scouting community is in a bit of shock.

🕯🌳If he had a heart attack and fell off the mower then God speed to him. But that’s what we all were trying to figure out.

Strange the grass isn’t mowed directly in front or behind the mower, and only appears mowed just beyond the tree. Ask questions.

May have felt something coming on, raised the blade, and tried to get to help. Didn’t make it.

As someone who has lived with 200+/100+ BP for nine years, I expect something like this could happen at any time.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Hug someone today.
