One Ejected After Collision on 299, According to the Scanner

Traffic collision, crash, wreck, feature iconOne person was ejected from a vehicle and another person may also be injured also following a vehicle crash on Hwy 299 at mile marker 20 west of Berry Summit, according to the scanner.

An ambulance, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, Blue Lake Fire, and Calfire are responding to the scene.

Exactly so!!!! When the dumb commercials (PSA’s) say “Seat belts save lives” they are NOT kidding in the least!!!! Fasten your seat belt, the life you save may likely be your own!!!

Most people “believe” that wearing a seatbelt with shoulder harness will keep you secure. They and meant for front and rear impact safety only. In a rollover or side impact one will likely come out of their seatbelt. But, it’s better to be buckled up than not.

I’ve been in two roll-overs (one on the side, and one three times over) with no seat belt on, and walked away both times (no ejection). Believe me, it has way more to do with luck than anything else. Buckle up.
