Eureka Branch of Humboldt County Library Hosting Self-Care Fair on May 18th

Thanks to a grant from the California State Library and the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Humboldt County Library is excited to announce that we will be hosting the Be Well Self Care Fair in Eureka. The goal of the Be Well Self-Care Fair is to partner with community businesses, organizations and agencies to offer a variety of programs, activities and resources to help connect community members of all ages to services and skills to help them live mentally well and work to remove the stigma behind mental illness.

The event will be held on Saturday, May 18th from 11:00–4:00 at the the  Humboldt County Library, located at 1313 Third Street in Eureka. Activities will be offered throughout the day, including yoga, meditation workshops, chair massage, and crafting programs. Activities specifically geared towards children and families, including storytime yoga and meditation for children, will also be offered. In addition to these programs, the library will be partnering with other organizations that work in the mental health/wellness field by offering informational tables to help connect patrons to information and services. Representatives from Changing Tides Family Services, Humboldt Senior Resource Center, Two Feathers Native American Family Services, the Department of Health and Human Resources, and Paso a Paso will all be on-hand to answer community member’s questions and share about their services.
