Hoopa Girls Sweep Doubleheader With Ferndale

The Hoopa Valley girls kept their hopes of a repeat Little 4 championship in softball alive with a doubleheader sweep at Ferndale on Saturday.The Warriors won 14-6 and 16-5 and are now 6-2 in league play, two wins behind St. Bernard’s, which is 8-1 and has played a game more.
Estelle Colegrove pitched the win in the opener, after coming in to relieve starter Dawn Latham Van Pelt, and also had a big say at the plate, finishing 4-for-5 with three RBIs.
Daisy Tracy also had a big game on offense, going 3-for-4 with a double.
For Ferndale, Brianna Rimmey had a solo home run, while Sydney Smith was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
In game two, Savannah Colegrove was instrumental in the win, pitching all five innings for the victory, while striking out four.
She also was 3-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and an RBI.
Naschewen Hunsucker also had a productive day at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs.
