Especially if you drive too fast on it!!! Remember folks REDWOODS Do Not Move, even if you hit them, with a car or truck or just about anything this side of a TANK, and even then I’m not so sure it would move!!!

Elvis, after noticing how many drive with their f-ing cell phones in their hand, I suspect that as usual, the ROAD is not the problem. How come thousands navigate it safely every day? Could it be that is because they are DRIVING and not talking/ texting? Just a guess…

The road is not dangerous, seems like a large number of those who drive it are. I learned how to drive on that highway 50 years ago.

Crazy girl in a white toyota tundra passed me on a blind curve on Buck Mountain. I agree – it’s the drivers who are crazy!

It doesn’t take much to pass a T-100 going 15 mph

There are too many aggressive a-holes on the road in big jacked-up SUVs and trucks. I have noticed that most of these accidents involve these monster vehicles and that’s because they are speeding and driving recklessly. It amazes me when the planet is cooking that people are still driving these gas guzzlers.

What do you expect people to drive when they live out in the hills? a prius?

Myth… I live on the top of a mountain & out in the hills often and I drive a Prius, 3 dogs & no problem. I save a lot in gas & it’s rarely inconvenient. 500 miles/tank & $25 to fill it up. Pisforpotter is correct & known alcoholics drive 36 often.

It didn’t look gold to me, when I passed it. Very white. Most highway patrol at one time, that I’ve seen on 36 in a while. Hope the occupant is fairing well.

That’s about the ONLY time you see a CHP on 36 is AFTER the fact!!! Same thing with HCSO they keep transferring our “Resident Deputy” to elsewhere!!!!

There’s no cell phone reception on the thirty six. I wouldn’t blame it on some one using a cell phone east of grizzly creek until you get to bridgeville. Thats all.

I also believe cell phone was the problem. Hang up your phone and just drive people! Save a life!!

I also believe you aren’t from around here. There is no cell service at that spot on 36.

I was the person in the accident i have driven that rd for years. i had borrowed a friends truck to move furniture was 3 miles north of his place in swains flat, I came up on the curve at normal speed but was not in my daily driver, hit a slippery spot on the inside lane lost control hit gas regained control dodged a big rig then got slingshoted in to redwood. No phone involed, have driven that road hundreds of times. Just shit timing. I have some serious injuries was completely sober so dont believe everything on the internet. It was nice reading all your comments of what happened
