Vehicles can get through but be alert for changes if you are driving through the area.

A tree fell into utility lines near Briceland Road. Note: Because of idiocy on the author’s part, the original title read “Tree Into Power Lines on Briceland Road.” We’ve changed that to reflect that we don’t know whether this is a phone or power line (though we suspect phone line).

Kym~A good definition of an idiot is one who never recognizes their error. I think the word you were searching for is “human”.

Generally a reporter, investigative journalist, blogger and site moderator are positions held by 3 people at least.

You having little sleep is assumed, every day – because it seems you hold all those titles.

You’ll know which it is. If no one comes to take care of it until the line is on the ground, it’s a phone line. If someone does show up fairly fast, it’s a power line. Cynicism asside, the fat lines are usually phone and cable. The thin lines power.

Kym, it is very unusual to lose the phone when a tree goes down here on Briceland-Thorn Road. Even when we lose power, the land line always works. And my phone and electric are both working this morning in Thorn.

The advice above is good: this being a fat cable, and also with no stand-off from the pole confirms it as AT&T phone. If a couple of locals call to advise AT&T there is a stretched cable they will schedule someone to deal with it next week, hopefully before it breaks.
