BLM crews will be burning piles of limbs and brush at Lacks Creek as weather permits.

The BLM, Arcata Field Office is planning to burn up to 15 acres of piles within the  Lacks Creek Management Area, pending air quality and weather conditions.
Legal location:  T8N R3E Section 14
Lat./Long.:  40° 59.593’N x 123° 48.278’W
General location:  Six miles West of Hoopa, CA. Located on the West side of the Lacks Creek Management Area
Project name: Lacks Creek Piles
Today’s date: 3/19/2019
Ignition dates: 3/20/2019 – 3/23/2019.
County: Humboldt
Acreage: 15 acres total
Duration of ignition:  Up to 3 days.
Duration of smoke production: Less than eight hours per day of ignition.
Direction of smoke travel: Northerly, and Westerly
Communities or smoke sensitive areas: Hoopa, CA (6 miles), Blue Lake, CA (10 miles)
