One Still Sought After Yesterday’s DTF Raids in Arcata

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Drug Task Force. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Firearms and drugs On March 19th, 2019, the Humboldt County Drug Task Force (HCDTF) served multiple search warrants in the City of Arcata. During a year-long investigation, HCDTF established probable cause to believe that Karlton Morris Peterson (age 37), Anthony Osmond Peterson (age 36), and Lloyd Albert Wolfe Jr. (age 34) were distributing cocaine, illegally possessed pharmaceuticals, and other illicit drugs from their business “The Emporium” located at 1073 H Street, Arcata.

Karlton Morris Peterson

Karlton Morris Peterson is still being sought.

At approximately 1:55 p.m., HCDTF Special agents, with the assistance of officers from the Arcata Police Department, Eureka Police Department, and Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, served a total of four search warrants in the City of Arcata. In addition to the aforementioned business, search warrants were served at residences located in the 500 block of G Street, 1000 block of H Street, and 2700 block of L K Wood Boulevard.

At these locations agents seized multiple ounces of cocaine, MDMA, prescription narcotics, psilocybin mushrooms, and several illegally possessed firearms. It is believed this business was a “one stop shop” for purchasing illegal narcotics. Upon entering The Emporium, agents contacted and arrested Lloyd Albert Wolfe Jr., and booked him into Humboldt County Correctional Facility (HCCF) on the following charges:

  • H&S 11351/11377/11378 Possession of a controlled substance for sales

  • H&S 11370.1(a) Possession of controlled substances while armed

  • PC 33410 Possession of firearm silencer

    Jonathan Israel Celestine

Jonathan Israel Celestine is in custody.

  • PC 30605 Possession of an assault rifle

At the G Street location, agents contacted and arrested Jonathan Israel Celestine (age 34). Celestine was booked into the HCCF for possession of controlled substances for sales.

On March 20th, 2019, Anthony Osmond Peterson contacted the HCDTF and surrendered himself to agents. He was transported to the HCCF and booked on the above listed charges.

Lloyd Albert Wolfe

Lloyd Albert Wolfe is in custody.

Agents have been unable to locate Karlton Morris Peterson and a Ramey Warrant for the same charges has been issued for his arrest. The HCDTF is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Karlton Morris Peterson who should be considered armed and dangerous. Karlton Morris Peterson is described as a black male adult, 5’11”, 225 pounds. Anyone with information related to this investigation or other narcotics related crimes are encouraged to call the Humboldt County Drug Task Force at 707-267-9976 or the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at 707-268-2539

Sometimes I wonder: Are there people in our society who simply are not redeemable?

What do you have against the Free Market and The Right To Bear Arms?

Amen, yup, nothing as Americana as NWA “100 miles and running”… I’d wish the guy luck but he probably shouldn’t have been messing with multiple ounces of cocaine AND MDMA/shrooms… Too much diversification. Should have specialized… Now he has a trip to Con College aka “Yale” (yes, the J is silent)…

I agree that tying his right to bear arms into the dope thing is a canard non-sequitur — a Nancy Ray-Gun thing, and wholly a violation of civil/constitutional rights… You want to get him for drugs, fine… But making the combo a huge mother loving go to Yale for life crime is a bit obtuse, disingenuous, and frankly unconstitutional… But I digress.

Maybe at sentencing he can appeal by saying, “at least it wasn’t meth or heroin….”

that’s not MDMA. that’s the currently legal euphoric compound you can order from China. it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy but it not MDMA. MDMA is bright white.

Depends on the purity, mdma is made from sassafras oil distillation and a chemical reaction with hydrogen peroxide and aluminum and some other stuff, idk the recipe but generally you have oils left over. In mdmas purest form its a oil and to crystallize it you have to add a hydrochloric salt which always bring purity down. The more you know 😉 you cant actually tell purity of any drug by color alone

Hmm…. nice bayonet on one of the rifles.
They must have been er… expecting trouble ?

Silencer is a federal offense. IMHO: Probably not out on bail. (?)

I keyed on the bayonet myself must be for an over the counter charge just like the trenches of WWI, lol. Silencer sucks though definate silencer envy goin on -2pts. Looks like an air rifle on top. I suggest a higher caliber assault weapon that thing would just piss the enemy off -1pt.

Nah, that’s a real ar pistol with a suppressor that goes back into the handguard, with what looks like an unmarked 80% lower. The rifle below it is a springfield m1a chambered .308 dropped into a really nice aftermarket stock, decent firepower for store front unlicensed pharmacists in Arcata. The sks is dropped a stock that allows it to accept a removable magizine, thats a no no here in cali. The bayonet is hilarious but totally legal if it was a stock sks. The box on the left with the red plastic thing is the jig to finish the polymer 80 pistol on the right, also for all intents and purposes not legal here at this point. Every firearm except the glock 19 is an assault weapon here in California at this point, and being the smallest pistol in the bunch it was probably carried concealed without a license during business operations. It’s almost like these dudes just have no regards for our Common Sense© gun safety laws here. Actually, the way drug crimes are prosecuted here if the feds get involved on the un-stamped suppressors that will be a far bigger issue. Like possably 30 years in a fed facility, no parole, especially when used in the commission of crimes involving scheduled substances.

You don’t need a carry license to pack in your own business at all . Just legally posses and do not be engaged in a felony while packing .

Most murders, rapists, child abusers, drug dealers, etc are the epitome of free market and gun aficionados. Most criminals believe that their own wants are rights owed them by everyone else. Strange how just a little kink in thinking ability can’t see that rights and responsibilities are the two sides of the same coin. Guess that’s why there are jails- for those who can’t see that with one comes the other.

That’s the real first world problem- there’s no transporting undesirables in a world where jets go everywhere in hours and where the locals can effectively refuse to take them.

Kym or anyone,

Does “illegal possession” of firearms imlpy they were not stolen, but likely brought from another state?

Thanks, I think I should rephrase my question though…as I’m still a little unclear.

If these guns were stolen, the charges or press release would have noted that.

So I think it’s safe to assume the guns were not stolen, but bought legally?

you should look into how they charge people. sometimes they leave charges out, they dont always charge people right away, and sometimes they just dont have enough evidence or there might be an ongoing investigation like if someone is legally buying guns and selling them to people who cant (legally buy guns)
