Fortuna Police Ask Public’s Help Capturing Stabbing Suspect
This is a press release from the Fortuna Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
The Fortuna Police Department continues to actively investigate the stabbing which occurred on February 21, 2019 in the 2300 block of Acacia Drive in Fortuna.
On February 22, 2019 detectives obtained a “No Bail” Warrant for the arrest of Derek Ray Johnson (age 24 of Fortuna) for the crime of Attempted Murder. The department is actively search for Johnson and requesting the public assistance in his apprehension.
If you know Johnson’s whereabouts you are urged to contact Detective Brian Taylor with the Fortuna Police Department at 707-725-1447 or the Fortuna Police Department Communications Center at 707-725-7550. “Fortuna Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Johnson. Johnson is wanted for attempted murder, shooting at an inhabited dwelling and armed robbery. 7/5/16” sounds familiar. based on the amount of mug shots this guy has and the fact that he walked away from the inmate work crew after getting a slap on the wrist, why is he not in prison?

Whatever he was on had worn off by the time they took his mug shot. He looks awfully young to be so f’ed up..

Just think, this guy was a cute little kid in 2000 . . .
I was this kids neighbor when I was in 1st grade and he was in kindergarten, he was a cute little kid; my first crush lol. I moved away and hadn’t heard from him since 1999/2000…crazy to see this is how he turned out. I had wondered where he went in life.
