Humboldt County Can Now Deposit Pay for Vendors Directly into Their Bank Accounts
Press release from the Humboldt County Auditor:
In an effort to provide exemplary customer service at a reduced cost to Humboldt County taxpayers, the Auditor-Controller department is pleased to announce we are now offering
vendors the option to issue payments via Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT’s). Vendors who enroll in this EFT option will benefit from electronic payments made directly from the County to their bank account for services provided and/or goods sold. The implementation of EFT payments will benefit the County by reducing the cost of check stock paper, MICR toner, postage, and staff time to fold and stuff checks in envelopes (these costs total in the tens of thousands of dollars for the County every year.) Vendors and the County will also benefit from even faster payment issuance thus improving vendor-County relations. It’s a winwin!
Existing vendors are encouraged to contact our office to enroll in this EFT option. What we will require from vendors to enroll in this EFT option is either a cancelled check or a bank confirmation letter to confirm their bank account.
Special recognition and appreciation goes out to County Information Technology (IT), County Purchasing, Treasurer staff, and Auditor-Controller staff for their support and participation during the testing phase of this project. This would not be possible without their efforts.

🕯Wow there there finally catching up with the the 21 century. To much culture shock might want to prepare the Hospitals.
That makes sense to do it electronically. Humboldt is way ahead of most counties with EFT. As a supplier of MICR Toner and Check Paper, we hate to see it. But we will adapt.
