The following is a press release from Redwood Parks Conservancy:

CRESCENT CITY, CA – The Board of Directors of Redwood Parks Conservancy (RPC) invites the community to join them in welcoming Joanna Di Tommaso as their new executive director. Ms. Di Tommaso succeeds retiring director, Cathy Bonser, who ably led the organization for the past eight years.

After an extensive nationwide search, Ms. Di Tommaso was selected to lead RPC’s efforts to promote and support its public lands partners: Redwood National and State Parks, the U.S. Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management in Del Norte and Humboldt counties.

Ms. Di Tommaso brings more than nine years of experience serving Northern California’s public lands, starting as a biological science technician with Redwood National Park before joining RPC as operations assistant and eventually becoming the development director. She has been a strong advocate for RPC and its partners, enabling the organization to increase its impact through community outreach, securing funding for park priorities, and leading the group’s latest endeavor to protect an ancient redwood stand called the Grove of Titans while also creating public access.

“RPC is well-positioned to grow into an even more successful partner for our public land agencies based on the solid foundation built by Cathy Bonser. I am excited to have the opportunity to lead this great organization in its next phase,” said Ms. Di Tommaso.

“Joanna has done a remarkable job for us as development director, particularly with our latest capital campaign for the Grove of Titans. We are confident that she has the passion, talent, and vision to lead RPC into the future. We are also grateful to Cathy for her many years of dedicated service and wish her the best in her well-deserved retirement,” said Alex Campbell, chairman of the RPC Board of Directors.

Ms. Di Tommaso has a B.S. in Conservation and Resource Studies from University of California, Berkeley and a M.A. in Environment and Community from Humboldt State University.

My sister donated money in my name for my birthday. Very cool. If being a good partner with government agencies means trail maintenance then great. Mill Creek trail on the way to the Titans has a big tree laying across the trail after heavy rain around January 25, 2018. The resource deserves better then what is being provided.
