Sheriff’s Office Searching for Assault Suspect in Sunday Incident
Information from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
On Feb. 10, 2019, at about 6:35 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 3600 block of Dows Prairie Road for the report of a male subject who had been assaulted and was unresponsive.
When deputies arrived on scene, they made contact with the victim who had regained consciousness. The victim told deputies that he had been punched in the face during an argument with a male suspect only identified as “Bobby”. The victim received treatment for his injuries on scene.
The suspect was last seen walking northbound from the residence.
The suspect, “Bobby,” is described as a white male adult, approximately 38 years old, large build, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and 250 pounds, with red hair and a red beard. The suspect is possibly associated with a white pickup truck.
Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
At this point, this case is not being investigated as attempted murder but as an assault and battery case.

So unprofessional to not offer a city or region. I’m sure I can google Dows Prairie Road but the press release should have the basic geography in it, as should your headline, Kym. It’s a big county.

Dows Prarie rd. is in Dows Prairie, that one is not surprising to anyone who lives in the county. TERRIFIC question though! Now where the heck is Fortuna blvd.? This county is soo big and unprofessional, waaaaaa,wwaaaaaaaa!

Journalism is supposed to contain the basic facts. Reproducing poorly drafted press releases is not journalism. The county does not employ writers, just bureaucrats. This site is a grow store megamart with left-wing and/or drug user commentary, not journalism.
You are absolutely correct that reproducing press releases is not journalism. It does however get the basic information out relatively quickly to our readers. As often as possible we do research, reporting and deeper journalism but we don’t have multiple employees so we can’t approach as many stories as we would like from a solid research point. However, we did just receive an award from the Society of Professional Journalism for our work so we do manage a few things right.
You do seem to be on here rather frequently though if you don’t like the site which rather confuses me.
