Former CR, HSU Coach Arrested Second Time in Three Weeks

Hungerford's Image has been scrubbed from the HSU Jacks website but through the magic of Google it is still available.

Hungerford’s Image has been scrubbed from the HSU Jacks website but through the magic of Google it is still available.

We’ve joined forces with Ray Hamill of HumboldtSports.com to bring you local sports. Each time we share a teaser and a link to his stories here for easy access. Then click through to his site for the entire story. Here’s a look at two scandal’s in local college sports:

…Former Lumberjack Aaron Hungerford, who also served as an assistant coach with the program and as a head coach at College of the Redwoods up until recently, was arrested for the second time in less than three weeks on Thursday night on a charge of domestic violence.

Hungerford was also arrested on Christmas Eve and charged with suspicion of driving under the influence, three days before he was let go as head coach of the CR men’s team.

And he’s not the only former Lumberjack recently in trouble with the law.

Another former HSU player and assistant coach, Cy Vandermeer, was arrested in McKinleyville late last month and charged with possession of stolen property and narcotics…

Isn’t it grand? HSU and CR refuse to even interview high honors college grads with great skills and experience, but they have no problem hiring and employing drunks and thugs (like the other coach just taken into custody). I graduated from HSU with 3.92 gpa at the institution, won a major collegiate academic award, have lots of real world business experience, can tutor many subjects, am a professional and award-winning writer, yet the university has not interviewed me for a single position in over a decade. CR only hires women for office positions. PC madness. Unless, of course, you are an athlete, female or person of color, preferably all three!

Humbolt state setting high standards for future students. Already checked this one of my sons list after seeing last year Eureka ranked second behind Oakland, for most deadly cities in Cali.

“..last year Eureka ranked second behind Oakland, for most deadly cities in Cali.”
Where does this lie come from? People just keep posting variations of it.

I don’t know where Eureka stands in the homicides per capita list, but a listing which doesn’t even include cities the size of Eureka does nothing to help.

We have about 10-20% the homicide rate of the cities on this list.

The catch phrase is “Deadly Cities”, not just homicides. Exactly what these people mean by that is not clear but I suspect that fatal drug overdoses, pedestrian deaths, drownings, etc are included. And Eureka is up there in all those things.

Above average, but not number 2.

Do you have any evidence of a wave of unreported murders in Eureka? To put us at number 2, 80-90% percent of the murders in Eureka would have to have been covered up.

Is that really what you are suggesting?

Quit trying to muddy the waters, quit lying through your teeth and quit spreading fake Bullshit news, PLEASE.

I hope he sees he needs help and is willing to accept that help includes listening to other people and that he sees he is not doing so well by following his own inclinations.
