[UPDATE 11:05 a.m.] One Person Pinned Under Vehicle in Eureka

Pedestrian HitOne person is pinned under a vehicle near the intersection of Oak and H in Eureka by Grant Elementary School as of 10:35 a.m.

The vehicle struck an elderly pedestrian, according to the first reports from the scene as relayed over the scanner. It may have also sideswiped a mail truck prior to that.

Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.

According to law enforcement at the scene speaking to our photographer Mark McKenna, an elderly driver may have been involved in a collision with a mail truck. The woman continued on but stopped her vehicle to inspect it soon after. (Both tires were flat.) Then the truck rolled back on the woman pinning her.

The personnel at the scene believe there was no drugs or alcohol involved but possibly a medical issue. The woman has been taken to the hospital.

Campton Road is shut down in both directions as of 11 a.m.
