Deputies Locate Stolen Mercedes

Stetson Miller found in possession of a Mercedes coupe reported stolen

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On Jan. 7, 2019, at about 11:10 p.m., deputies on patrol in the area of the Blue Lake Casino observed a white Mercedes coupe matching the description of a vehicle reported stolen out of Eureka less than one hour earlier [within 2.5 hours.] Deputies approached the vehicle and contacted one male occupant in the driver’s seat. The subject provided deputies with a false name, but was later identified as 27-year-old Stetson Cole Miller.

Upon further investigation, deputies determined the vehicle was stolen. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located several other stolen items.

Miller was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of: possession of a stolen vehicle, providing false identification to a peace officer, possession of stolen property and violation of probation, in addition to an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

HCSO Public Information Office released the following correction.

The previous press release said the vehicle was located in less than an hour. There was a miscalculation in this time frame. The vehicle was actually located within 2.5 hours.
