Need a Disc-Golf Buddy? One-Year-Old Riku Wants to Go

Riku is at the Sequoia Humane Society located at the King Salmon exit off the 101 just south of Eureka.

This information is provided by Petharbor.com.

Hi, my name is Riku! I’m a 17 pound, male, miniature australian shepherd/australian cattle dog mix, born around 4/12/2018.
I like to play with toys, and enjoy lively interactions with people and pets.

A playful dog like me will have fun during a game of fetch, of course, but also when quietly chewing on a stuffed toy. Whatever kind of toy I like best, I’ll want my new family to play too!

If you are considering adopting from Sequoia Humane Society, filling out a general application is the first step. It’s good for a year, and the oldest general application has first pick, when any animal becomes available for adoption. Visit us at Sequoia Humane Society or like us on Facebook

Temperament information on the miniature version was not readily available online, but dogtime.com says, “The Australian Cattle Dog is an extremely intelligent, active, and sturdy dog breed. Developed by Australian settlers to handle herds of cattle on expansive ranches, he’s still used today as a herding dog. He thrives on having a job to do and on being part of all family activities. He is loyal and protective of his family, though wary of outsiders. Besides herding work, the Australian Cattle dog does well at canine sports, including agility, obedience, rally, flyball, and flying disc competitions.”
