Two Fortuna Residents Arrested After Robbery at Grocery Store
This is a press release from the Fortuna Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
On [Saturday December 15, 2018] at approximately 8:30 pm, Fortuna Police officers responded to a grocery store located in the 400 block of South Fortuna Boulevard for a reported armed robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male suspect had entered the store and held the clerk at gunpoint while demanding cash. The suspect was described as a White male wearing a Blue Sweatshirt, gloves, and had their faces covered. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash the suspect fled on foot. The clerk was not injured during the robbery.
Officers collected video and physical evidence from the business as well as nearby businesses and determined that the female subject was also involved.At approximately 10:30 pm, officers responded to a grocery store located in the 700 block of South Fortuna Boulevard for a report of a warrant suspect in the business. Upon arrival, officers determined that the male suspect and the female accompanying him were the two subjects from the previous robbery. Both subjects were arrested and found in possession of evidence linking them to the robbery.Patricia Andrea Young (age 40) of Fortuna was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on the following charges:Penal Code Section 182 – Conspiracy to Commit RobberyPenal Code Section 496 – Possession of Stolen PropertyHealth & Safety 11364 – Possession of Drug ParaphernaliaWhiski Bruce Moran (age 40) of Fortuna was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on the following charges:Penal Code Section 211 – Armed RobberyPenal Code Section 417 – Brandishing a FirearmPenal Code Section 182 – Conspiracy to Commit Robbery
