“- go back to their lives.” Awesome. Some Christian charity that is, huh? Here’s some food and a floor to sleep on for one night, then bye bye. No job, no other assistance. Typical HumCo liberalism and denominational “Christianity.”

Were you taking them in before this offer? I guess you would have kept them.

yeah what a shame. someone opens up their warm building to them for the night and then cooks them a meal in the morning. what kinda crap is that, we are supposed to point at them as we drive by and throw trash at them because it will teach them a lesson and hey maybe they could recycle it and get some money or burn it to keep warm.

some homeless have jobs so yes they need to get up early and get going back to their lives. maybe the guy who rolls the dough at round table is homeless and he has to get up early to get to work to make pizzas for those who are better off

Well, when I was homeless, one night of warmth & a couple of warm meals was better than NOTHING! Enjoy being your miserable self.

So, how did you end your homelessness? Was it by sitting back and accepting hand outs? Or was it from you putting in the effort to get yourself out?

What do you think would be a possible improvement? Something that can actually be done?

since you obviously dont know i want to inform you they do a lot more than just an emergency shelter

A single Dad came in to the shelter with his young daughter and teenage son. The life he had led prior to coming into the family shelter had left him seemingly defeated and hopeless. He seemed to lack any form of confidence, and had no faith that he would ever be able to have his own place to call home. He worked with his case manager to get housed and earn his GED. He began to feel whole again. After going through the Family Shelter Program he is a completely different person, and has finally found that confidence he was always looking for within himself.

Just like the non existent agreed upon value* of the term medical mj is left up in the air, i don’t think that requiring an agreed-upon-value for the term of Extreme Weather is out of the question. Tonight is Not extreme weather by any stretch of the Humboldt imagination. I don’t even have my wood stove going. It’s not blowing and barely raining.

Shelter for the night, clothes, shower and food w/a breakfast in the morning is much appreciated i’m sure for those in need of such. I’m not knocking that at all -and cheers for these people who are providing this. Goodwill to men of good will.

The logical mind hates this much uncertainty – nothing more.
