Three Car Collision South of Eureka

Just before 1 p.m. three vehicles collided on Hwy 101 northbound near the  Herrick onramp south of Eureka, according to a witness. The left lane is blocked.

A white van, a Ford F250, and a Toyota Tacoma are the ones involved.

The accident may have been caused by debris in the road, according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page which also states there are only minor injuries.

There’s been alot more trash on the highway than normal, especially in that area.

I don’t buy trash causing that accident. More like poor driving skills involved. Glad no one was hurt.

Having had the experience of driving over a piece of metal that shredded my tire, I can see it’s very possible. Not to mention what might happen if a person swerved to avoid something.
