Orleans SWAT Raid Nets Two Suspects in Multiple Burglaries

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On Dec. 4, 2018, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team conducted an operation at a property in the area of Ferris Ranch Road in Orleans to locate a suspect known to be armed and dangerous and search for possible stolen property associated with multiple recent burglaries.

While on scene, deputies located and arrested Curtis Dalme McCovey, 42, and Antonio Ramone Escalderon, 20, without incident.

Deputies also located four loaded firearms, two of which were reported as stolen, a motorcycle reported stolen out of Siskiyou County and several other items of stolen property linked to multiple area burglaries.

McCovey was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of possession of stolen property, felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited person in possession of ammunition and a warrant for possession of metal knuckles. His bail is set at $60,000.

Escalderon was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.

There are good people in that family too. Big family. That’s why I asked my question. Not to smear the name but to connect dots…I don’t know them. But since the name keeps popping up in criminal stories… perhaps they have a line or two of cousins with serious issues. There are very honorable people in Hoopa with that same name….we don’t choose our family and I would never expect anybody to abandon their own blood.
