[UPDATE 4:50 p.m.] Single Vehicle Accident on Hwy 36

Traffic Collision Car AccidentA single vehicle crashed on Hwy 36 about mile marker 8.5. The occupant/s may need extrication, according to the scanner.

The vehicle struck a tree, states the dispatcher writing on the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.

Fortuna Ambulance is responding to the incident along with Carlotta Fire, Fortuna Fire, and Cal Fire.

Please remember that information gathered from initial reports is subject to revision as more facts become available.

UPDATE 4:50 p.m.: The vehicle, a blue Chevy Blazer, is unoccupied and most resources have been asked to cancel their response.

Another…. Driver who thinks that Redwood trees will move for them!!! Point of fact, they DO NOT!!!!

Seems more like a battle lost to drinking and driving. Wrecked vehicle left unoccupied… Doubt anyone thinks trees are moving besides you….
