We’ve joined forces with Ray Hamill of HumboldtSports.com to bring you local sports. We’ll be sharing a teaser and a link to his stories here for easy access. Click through to his site for the latest in local action, but here’s a look at what he has to say about former HSU football player who has made it to the big league:

Former Humboldt State star Alex Cappa made his regular season debut with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

The former Lumberjack, who was chosen by the Bucs in the third round of this year’s NFL draft, was included in the game day roster for the first time after being inactive for the opening 10 games.

And it was a successful debut for Cappa, who saw plenty of action at right guard in a winning performance, as the Bucs comfortably defeated the San Francisco 49ers 27-9.

Lol, so true!

I lub the Niners, but I’m stoked for our HSU guy! I heard them say he was “From Humboldt State,” and it made the loss a lot better 🙂

I’m willing to bet that the Crimson Tide could actually beat a couple of the weaker NFL teams.

Local guy finally getting where he’s always wanted to be… dream come true. Much respect for Alex and his tough road to be where he’s at now all in all perfect story just shows u all the work, long hours, never give up, u can go places u hardly ever imagined in your life! If I cloned myself 5 times and wrestled u for 5 minutes there would be 5 stretchers and some serious injuries 😂
